Hi
a girlfriend has this error. We can play for 3hours without any crash, then next day it crashes after 10min, we start again, crash again. It's really anoying. We've done everything in the direction of drivers, dx, cleanup, spyware, defragmentation and so on. We searched the internet for it but we didn't find any help regarding this issue.

Maybe some of you know what to do with it. Thanks mates. It's really sad because we both have so much fun playing it, except the error of course.

The specs if I'm right.
I think it was a core duo
geforce 6600gt
1gig ram
Windows Xp Sp2 fully updatet

if it was fine before, you you install or download any previous programs or things?

Ah, ehm she has it just since some days and she has the downloaded version(legal) so we thought maybe that could be the problem. But then we played the cohof beta and there was the same issue. :(

Anti-Virus, or Firewall perhaps?

Already checked the firewall, for the antivirus I'm not sure, thanks for the tip mate. :)

something might be blocked. most likely to be caused by another program... or a virus!

Hey mates, I wanted to bump this. We started playing again but the problem remains, she's got a new GPU but that didn't help, any new thoughts/ideas?

Well the best thing to do now is a reinstall if the other solutions didn't work.

We tried that as well, didn't help.

Have you checked this site out?

I searched through the whole page. And mostly these kind of issues ended there without a workaround...

Maybe the motherboard is ****ed up? Did you already tested the RAM with MemTest or some same of software? The temperature of her comp is maybe too high?

Temp and ram are both fine.

I saw that you had defragmented etc, but did you touch any window's services by trying to optimize the comp?

How's the crash? The computer reboot or just freeze?

You checked the temperature while idle or when you were playing? Maybe it's the CPU/GPU during tense rendering that heat too much but I presume you already checked.

I know how some strange crashs can be annoying, during a month I had those crashs coming from nowhere, thought it was the alimentation but no, I had to format my hd and never ever found the problem despise heavy searching. So you might have to format :(
