<a href="http://www.ea.com/">Electronic Arts'</a> Assistant Producer of the Battlefield series, Ben Smith, has a blog up at gaming site <a href="http://www.1up.com/">1UP.com</a>. His first entry notes the upcoming Battlefield 2 expansion pack, Special Forces, is in the final process of approval at EA.<blockquote>Many of you in our community are probably aware that we (those of us working on the DICE development teams or EA Partners Production teams) don't like to talk about product progress until we're pretty certain that stuff is done and ready to go. Most often we wait until we have placed a really solid build into EA's final approval testing team (internally known as Customer Quality Control). You've probably guessed where this is heading. That's right, Special Forces has entered the Final Approval process here at EA. This means that so far things are looking great that we'll hit the shelf date your local retailer is expecting.</blockquote>Read the entire entry <a href="http://die_fledermaus.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=6004496&publicUserId=5680098">here</a>.

I'm more aware, as part of the community, that they tell us about something, then tell us it's late, and then tell us it's going to be late some more. They talk about things alot, I can see why this guy got hired as the guy who talks to the public, he's like a used car salesman.

The Customer Quality Control Group LOL!!!!!
Are they the same ones that did not see the ID Bug & the craptastic browser?
I do love the game and will probably buy the SF Expack but it would be nice if they spent less time on the PR and more on making sure it works right.

I laughed when I saw that 'quality control' line in his blog. Here's how I imagine it:

i wonder if you shot the grappling hook at a passing chopper, and connected well, if you would get dragged around? thatd be fun.

Yea, How many game modes and extra bug fixes included? Can one attach the grappling hook to ALL objects..even those that move? Can you kill an enemy with a grappling hook to the head? How loud is it when you stream across the open air on a zip line? Many other questions have me curious as well but too many to mention.
