EA (http://www.eagames.com/) posted a quick message on the official Battlefield 2 site (http://www.eagames.com/official/battlefield/battlefield2/us/home.jsp):
In preperation for the upcoming Battlefield 2 v1.12 update, EA/DICE bring you the latest Non-Ranked Server file. Go prep those servers for Special Forces guys!
You can download the new Windows server patch here (http://totalbf2.filecloud.com/files/file.php?user_file_id=80321). Keep an eye out for the client patch (and Special Forces) coming out very soon!

This is very good news to hear. I can't wait when i can play BF2: Special Forces tomorrow! :D

Great any chance the client patch wont just update the game for Special forces? It would be nice if they fixed more things...

No it is for everyone.

There are actually 2 patches. Patch 1.1somes with s/f, 1.12 will have to be downloaded.

this should add all the new code in SF to the bf2 engine... so its good for mod teams :)
