View Full Version : Account Server Troubles
Many (http://totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44356) members (http://totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44349) are reporting that they have been unable to login to the Battlefield 2 account server. We understand EA and Gamespy are aware of this issue and they are working on a fix.
A number of members have said they've managed to login by simply waiting for five to ten minutes after submitting their details. If you can't wait for your fix of BF2/SF, we suggest you give waiting a shot.
Update: The issue appears to have been resolved.

why dont you give us some of those inside contacts email addys you
may have.. so we can complain in person rather than be forced to rely
on 3rd person information..
EA is such a horrible publisher.. its down right pathetic.
Its not a mystery why there is no method of contacting them directly
about things like this, as they would be overwhelmed DAILY with complaints
and requests. Other game publishers , like EPIC, have open email addresses
you can get in touch with them.. NOT THAT YOU RARELY NEED TO, BECAUSE
THEY ACTUALLY PRODUCE QUALITY PRODUCTS.
BF2 is a total joke of a game.........

i think ea since they have everyones account details they should send out an email to all who play bf2 to say the servers are down so we dont freak out. i tried that "waiting" thing didnt work so i went outside and i felt a strange burning sensation and i asked my mum what is that and she claimed it was the sunlight

Gee what a great idea. That might have at least saved the many people that complained here on this forum from uninstalling and reinstalling the game(s). EA didn't even have the decency to acknowledge that there was a problem at the EA website (I just checked). But instead relied on third party support forums like this to get the message out. I wonder what percentage of the BF2/SF gaming community don't even read forums like this and still don't what is going on. I guess being responsible to the customers like admitting there is a problem on the EA website might have negative impact on sales, Sure can't have that can we. Getting some of those EA email addresses might not be such a bad idea. Maybe we can give them some constructive criticism on customer support and public relations, area EA seriously seems lacking.

this has happened a few times b4.. ive been playing bf2 since release and believe me EA dont rush to fix it, and they certainly dont bother to notify anybody when the problem is fixed.. sites and forums like this are the only way ur gonna know its working again.
Everybody slagged off steam when Valve 1st released it,, but i can honestly say ive never had any probs with it so much as i have with EA's crap system.. it seems EA are too busy counting their money from big franchises to care about their customer relations. we'll probably get a post on the official site in 2-3 days explaining wot the problem was.. and prob not even an apology
all i can recommend to u guys is that u sit and wait. keep checking the forums for news of the servers being fixed.. dont bother re-installing the game or anything, because this problem is totally out of our hands

I don't like to side with EA in all their bullsh*ttery, but come on, it's server problems, everyone has it, so quit all this "EA suck" stuff.
They can't help having server problems, it happens to everyone at some time. They can however, have the sense to host accounts on a different server to their website (which appears to have caused the problems with its recent redesign etc)

It looks that some people are having loging problems, today December 31, EA online account servers are down so do not attempt to connect because all you will get is a screen saying connecting to account server for hours and you won't be able to quit. I managed once to quit with Ctrl+Esc and Ctrl+Alt+Del, but then I needed to force shutdown directly from power button. Hope they fix this soon.
