How do you change the mp3 songs in BF2? Is it possible?

I mean the loading screen music that normally plays, is it possible to replace it with say Led Zeppelin or ACDC?

And if you do, will it count as changed files for online ranked play?

Loading times would rock with some sweet classic rock.

It's probably supposed to be in the "Support" Forum. Hopefully a mod will move it there, but if none does, just remake the thread in that forum.

I download bink and smacker to convert the files, I just need someone to find the folder that the loading music is in.

o and btw The Roof is on Fire by bloodhoud gang is the best loading music, I used it in DC. I also used Let the Bodies hit the Floor, I woulduse that for chinese maps.

Yeah, that was a killer theme! Nothing like the sound of drums and trumpets to get you in that online-military-FPS mood. Of course, the music from Geist wasn't half bad either; good use of a chorus. I'd take Gregorian chants over Susa anyday.

Just search for and replace the .ogg files.

Dunno if punkbuster would take issue though...

well one guy had changed the files, so what does he say, does it count as modifying files for online?

Because its not as poplular a topic as favorite map threads or noob tube flames, and probaby more likely because nobody really knows/cares.

I know, I care, but I don't know so sorry.

I don't think you can do this as you'd probably get kicked for modified files. Not positive, but I'm pretty sure.

Also, be patient when waiting for an answer - this is a forum, not a chat room.

can you please just tell me where the sound files are located?

i cant even find them!

The sounds files are compressed, which is probably why you cant find them.

The compressed file can be found here: c:\program files\ea games\battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Common_client.zip
- inside that file, you can find the music .ogg files in Sound/Menu/Music.

Let me know if you have any success, I'd be interested in this too :)

Someone REALLY needs to END all this once and for all, and make and sacrifice it for all of us by doing the instructions listed above, and see if you can still enter punkbuster servers with ease.

I have done it successfully. I removed all the intro movies and added my own movie to BF2, same can be done with SF.

You can use the same principle to add different music as long as its converted into BINK video format. I have tested this procedure thoroughly, including joining online punkbuster games and you don't get the modified content warning.

Here's how to do it properly, link: http://www.r2clan.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2045

This should finally end all the questions about this.
