Hi people,
after posting post after post on forums and listening and putting into practice peoples trial and error formula's for fix this horrible patch i finally found away to get around this, my bf2 worked fine before the patch then since crashes at "62% geometries"iv tried everything to get around it as follows:

1)Uninstalled bf2 reinstalled patch 1.03 still rubbish, bf2 messed up registry files assuming so.

2)unistalled bf2 installed 1.03 patch and the NEW 1.12 patch still crashes and back to desktop as before (62%geometries)

3)unistalled, reinstalled bf2 then straight installed patch 1.12, stil dint work.

****4) Got a spare 200gb hard drive did all the above on there still dint work.

SOLVED : This is how we did it me and a friend have been tryin to solve this problem for ages so we decided to go for abit of BIOLOGY!!!

Your BF2 Folders that are targets for your shortcuts on ur desktop are
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 or the drive letter me be different etc, the thing you need to do to solve all your problems is to find a friend whos not having anyproblems with BF2 (HARDLY LIKELY) mine bein' skin1301 - and get he to allow u to copy his C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 (battlefled 2 folder) to dvd all 3.2Gb of it -----
---- AND GUESS WHAT THE GAME WORKS FINE-------

PROBLEM SOLVED all you need to do now is get hold of someones copied files.

Sort of makes sense what you've suggested, but unless your computer has the same specs/drivers as your friend's, you might just be still wasting a DVD...good for a go though.

Its funny really all the paragraph suggest is that u replace your bf2 program files with someones whos bf2 is workin??

Funny how thats alot of trouble seem as quite alot of people have reformatted lost losts of data and had to start building the systems up again.

so not alot of trouble is it? just shows how important bf2 is to some people.

Wasn't worried about the cost, just lots of variables to consider other than the same files for BF2. Thanks for posting a possible solution though as EA hasn't posted much of anything helping lately ha!
