I have built a model of a building and I want to skin it with the concrete materials on some of the buildings in BF2. I can use photoshop and 3dsmax. My question is, is it possible? Can someone please point me to a tutorial on this or point me in the right direction? I am currnently scouring the forums learning how to work with the editor. I will post anything I find on this subject here.
Cheers

hey m8 - yeah it is very possible - first of all the editor is for finished product - you will need to do your skinning in 3ds. make sure you have the bf2 3dsmax tools. unwrap your model and set up a directx 9 shader material and choose the Astaticmesh.fx setup. your skin will be using the bf2 pallete textures which are in the objects.zip - the skin consists of layer - 1 is colour, 2 is detail, 3 is dirt, 4 is crack... these correspond to the different filenames _c, _de, _di, _cr etc
dont worry - this is all set up in the material layout - you just have to assign filenames ;)
got to the bf2editor gotfrag forum - tonne of stuff for you there
might i also suggest the shattered faith websight which has a really useful video tutorial on setting up a staticmesh texture and using pallette textures...
good luck!!!
