I was wondering if there was a way to script that once a person is killed they would wait 15 seconds and come back to life in a different model. The zombies would not die but if they were hit become slower and could heal by killing living beings. at the start they would be twice as fast but could only use melee attacks. They would have to work as a group to kill the living. This mod would create a completly different gameplay. I am getting the game for christmas and i am already thinking about mods for it. I would like your guys opinions on this, i have max 7 and photoshop cs. I am not that great of a programmer but i can model.

There aren't really any examples of one model changing into another in the game, but one thing I can think of is when a player gets into a chopper they change into a flight helmet... there might be some scope to have 'addons' to a model when certain events happen.

Couldn't you do something like autoswitch sides on death and then just lock the player on that team? Like human player dies and gets auto-switched to the zombie team for the remainder of the round (or however long you want it.) It's not switching models but it's an idea.

it could even be a switch in texture with blood and white eyes just so you can see the difference. or when you die could you make it switch teams and spawn in the spot where you died?

Dynamic spawn points are coded in, just look at squad leaders...

this is gonna sound bad but i have never played it before and am getting for for christmas. so i am just throwing out an idea and want to get things together so i can start right away. i would need to assemble a team using the same maps.

Thats actually not that bad of an idea..
make a really closed in map.. something indoors almost with alot of corners where the zombies team can hide and ambush..etc..
but the gameplay would be as follows:
Only one guy on the zombie team.. he is the primary zombie, equipped with a single pistol. The rest is on the RRTS (Rapid Response Tactical Squad.. or something) team. The ones on the RRTS will have their main gun and a lesser powerfull version of a pistol.. as well as their knife.. (NO EXPLOSIVES IN THIS MOD EXCEPT PREPLACED BARRELS, AND NO MEDIC CLASS). Once the primary zombie has killed an enemy, that enemy is switched to the zombie team and will have a knife as their only weapon (hence the map where there is plenty of corners to pop out of). They will then try to kill the other RRTS members along with the primary zombie.. Winner would be the last one standing on the RRST team with the most amount of kills.

Now im not sure if that 1 pistol thing is a good idea, perhaps give it to 1 per 4 zombies?

I remember a mod on a server that had this happening. After they died they would stand up and fall down again. Humerous at first but then it got annoying as you could tell if they were alive or not. Basically they kept on falling up and down.

haha, i would play the demo but i am building a new computer so i can run it. I am sorta new to modding as i never really played games on pc's for about 3 years, switched to consoles. I have worked on max for about 6 years on and off teaching myself, started with max 4 if that will tell you anything about it. There is no zombie game out there that would be like this, in a huge invorment. Ideas on how to put it together and on gameplay style are welcome. you could give them a gun per 4 but decrease there accuracy and maybe make them like the squad leader. I am not sure if communicating should be dissabled or not yet. I never really thought of the smaller maps, i was thinking that the ratio of humans to zombies would be 2 to 1 at the start so that it would be more fare since the humans have guns and the sorts. Also if a zombie is shot in the head they would die and shot anywhere else they would slow down. any more ideas would be great.

Burst my Bubble why don't you. I wasn't sure but figuring it only happened on this server, not any other, it might be due to lag but my ping was good.

Haven't played on that server since. I think it may have been a Gamespace one.. :p

communicating would be key for zombies, as they have to cooridinate their attacks..

and the one zombie per thing is sorta like the zombie phenomonon where one is infected then they infect another, and that one infects more, and it splits off and such..etc

im not even sure if the whole thing is possible in the first place

Sorry, its only because after 1.02 patch i think it was my clan got really excited about getting our server working and we got the same problem so we all cryed for a few hours :(
