You can begin by opening up services.msc and disabling the "Themes" service. That will put an end to the Fischer Price look.

Yes I can.

We like to b!tch and moan about the lack of support, but the truth is that BF2 is about the best supported, non-pay to play game I've seen in resent times.

Seriously, we've had 5 patches already with another on the horizon. We've also got an expansion pack that really does contain some interesting stuff. This in the space of only 3 months! That's remarkable support these days, espesially consitering that the game WAS playable straight outta the box.

Compare this to DoD2 where they are refusing to implement anti-cheat support, or my most bitter dissapointment... the doomed Tribes:Vengance where the publisher released 1 patch to make the game actually work (it did NOT function out of the box), didn't release a dedicated server package for a week after launch, never released a single mod tool (there was a level editor, but all mod related stuff had been stripped), then after promising a mega patch only a week before offically ending support.

Now that was something worth being a bit snarky about.

BF2ers are a little spoiled, really.

Since this has somewhat turned into a desktop thread here's mine. Notice the .hosts file at work on the XFire window. I also set up that links folder on the toolbar because it's more efficient than the start menu and keeps my desktop clean. Also got the vertical toolbar, a bandwidth monitor running, winamp etc.
One somewhat sad thing though, while it is dual monitor the 2nd monitor is a pretty old one I found in the garage, it's max resolution is 800x600, so that's why the toolbar doesn't seem to go all the way down that's just the edge of the window :P
