OK so i wanna know. I dont go in for mods because it seems that most modders idea of improving the game is to make everything "better".
So you see lists of improvement.
-Made snipers more powerful
-increased range of sniper rifles
-increased tanks armour
-increased x rate of fire
Usually the argument is that its to increase "realism" ... i could write an essay about how most of the "reality" mods are no more realistic than the main game.
Most of the mods seem to leave the balancing to the players.
For example, all guns do almost instant kills with one or two hits. So "players must use now stealth and tact to play the game".
Ive never seen a balanced mod.
Whats the deal???

Why attack modders in general when none of the full conversion mods are not even done nor will be for a few more months which are made by modders.

Balanced ? You mean improved and balanced weapons per 'side' ?

The "deal"?
The deal is, for Project Reality, to put as much realism into the game as we can without breaking the gameplay.
What is that supposed to mean?
Well, in real life you don't get to respawn very often, do you?
To have one life in a game would not be very fun so that is why there are still respawns in our mod. There has been a lot of discussion on this subject on our public forums over at www.realitymod.com (http://www.realitymod.com).
Also, some servers are now playing around with the spawntimes with increased times both for "injured/incapacitated" and for "dead" times, making you have to wait for up to a minute before you can reenter the fight.
Normally in real life all it takes to incapacitate you is one shot two at the most. It is true that there have been accounts of people being shot several times without succumbing to their injuries until after the fight. That is not the norm however. The way it is done in PRMM should make you value your life a little more. Be more careful and not rush hell bent for leather down the middle of the road on Karkand screaming "YEEEHAAAAAAW!!!" In PRMM you are dependent on your teammates to win.
In real life there are no magic "health pack" or "defibbrillators" to bring you back to 100% health. Project Reality is in the process of altering the way the medic works in BF2. Again, you can find discussions about this subject on our public forums.
In the end I'll just say that right now we can not simulate the real world 100%. You will not be able to feel the recoil of your weapons, your field of vision is limited and your depth perception is off due to looking at a flat image portraying a 3D world.
Then there are the limits of the game engine itself. There are only so much that can be done. What CAN be done will astound us all but it is still limited.
Lastly, if realism mods are not your cup of tea, try them again! They might grow on you!
Kind regards
BlakeJr
