Pretty simple question. I got 1gb of ram right now, would another 1gb/512mb be worth the money? As would it decrease map load times and make the game smoother?

I upgraded from 1 to 2 gigz and boom I load in 20 seconds, first on the map unless I minimize.

p4 3ghz and 6600gt
Would 1/2 gig be a good enough improvement? I have one slot left and a whole gig would cost about $85 where the 1/2 gig would cost about $35/40.

Go for the gig. No point in upgrading the slot AGAIN later...that 1/2 gig would be wasted if you upgraded at a later date.

RAM is a decent price now.

But that's just me ;) I don't know what your financial situation is like.

i actually ebayed my gig i had and went for a matched pair of corsairs (2gig) but you may not have the cash to to that but definatly go for the gig, makes shedloads of difference...

get a good defragger off the net too windows one is pap. im using o&o and got a minimum of 15fps improvement

I just ordered some more ram and its a known brand and cheap http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146032 even for my kind.

FYI that is 2x256, not 2x512. So you'd have 512 total not 1GB total. The Ballistix memory is nice, but I would have opted for some Corsair Value 1GB sticks.
