View Full Version : Delayed parachute+run over.

Well I only got the demo so far, so if this is a demo problem that has been fixed in a patch, im sorry. Anyway, whenever I pull the parachute or run over someone like in a jeep, there is about a half a second delay. When I pull the parachute, I continue to fall for about half a second, but then I reappear where I pulled my chute. And when I run someone over, they literally go through my jeep and then like 1/2 second later they die. I dont know if this is due to ping (its usually about 100) or someother weird reason. Anyone know why?

Crap processor ? Not enough ram ? What are your specs ?
Running any aplications in the background eg. File sharing, Anti-virus ?

P4 3ghz and 1gig of ram. I tryed single player and it doesnt have any of this delay. Weird.

Happens to me sometimes too.
I just attribute it to mild internet lag.

Slow internet. Multiplayer requires internet, if it happens way too often than it should, you have slow internet or your speed is capped.

Not so much speed as it would be latency.

Well my ping is usually 100 sometimes even lower. I have broadband and I dont have lag for any other games. :( Ill try some different servers... (I have a favorite I always play on)

Chose those with lowest pings but not those with 0..

I went on a server where I had a ping of 20! It still happened, are you sure this couldnt be a bug in the demo?

I have this issue sometimes if there are a lot of people on the server, or the server is running near max. capacity. I get the parachute one but never the running someone over one.

its server lag happens to be sometimes on the full game!

It's an online game..it happens.

I heard sometimes its hard finding good pinged servers in the full game...why?

Pretty simple, if it doesn't happen in single player, but it does in multi, it's internet lag.

I can seem to remember things like this in the demo release.
Don't know if they ever released an updated demo or if it's still the same one we downloaded in June.
But in the full version with the latest patches, I've never really seen that. But I will rarely play if my ping is over 110 or so.

I went on a server that I had a ping of 10, literaly it was 10. I still had the parachute delay and I dont understand why. Whenever I run someone over it also takes about 1/2 second longer than it should. Maybe because all the demo servers arnt the best? Ive never had problems with internet connection and Ive been playing first person shooters for a year or two.

Alright I took a picture of all the servers. As you can see there are quite a few below 100 and ive tryed joining a bunch with no avail. Does the bar on the left matter? There all red. But if red stands for bad connection or something, then how can my ping be 30?
