OK, I have a 7800GTX , it's OC'd to 490/1350 , this in combination with an OC's 4000+ and 2Gig of RAm, I use 1240*1024 , everything high, AA4x , AAF8x .
In vannilla BF2 I get 50-100FPS , sometimes a drop to 40 , but mostly it runs about 60-80FPS , in SF I get 30-80 FPS , sometimes drops to 30, and sometimes peaks to 100 .

The difference is the fps and the smoothness when you turn, there's a quick response on the graphics w/ little to no blur.

that is because you need to enable AAF in your videosettings

I can honestly say that my graphics look just as good with a OC'ed X800XL AGP. I have all turned on high except textures(because it adds grass and others that dont run high dont see grass and i look like a d*** laying on the bare ground like im hiding haha). All else is high AA off. Only reason posted is because i beileve that the x800xl is cheaper then the 7800....

i got a 7800gt and mine are also beatiful, personally i cant see that much of a difference in eye candy, between the gt and gtx, maybe the gtx has a few more FPS than the gt, either way still beatiful cards.

Hi guys new here. I have a P4 2.66 ghz. with 1 gig of pc 3200 ddr ram. I was wondering if I get the 7800 gtx would I be able to play with everything on high with all AA and AAF settings on max would it run smooth? Please don't reply if you are not to sure. I am going to buy a very expensive video card based on word of mouth experience and possibly screen shots of the game with someone who has a similar system. Thanks in advance guys.

To an extent vid cards and processors are co-dependant. However it is always better to have a good vid card and lots of ram and an OK processor for games.

just get the 7800gt it can play just as well as the gtx just lower frames a second and spend the extra cash you have left over for ram

but if you have enough for 7800gtx and ram by all means buy them both

Okay, I don't have a 7800GTX, but I do have a 6800GT, I can't play on max...but I was making a movie, so i turned everything up and it ran at about 30-50/60 FPS...but I still can't play at this FPS...

The settings were...Lightning medium...everything else on max...res=1000x700(w/e it is)
