View Full Version : Is 1.3 mbps fast enough?

I ordered a alienware 7500 for christmas and i have bellsouth dsl which the speed as of now is 1.3 mbps. I was wondering is this gonan be fast enough for me to play bf2, css and some other games online without lag. thans for all the help.

well ur internet doesnt really have that much to do with ur lag, although it is kinda major factor if ur using like dial up or something. ur internet shuld be fine. but if u wanna know about lag tell us the specs of ur computer.

Sounds like you shouldn't have any lag except for the ocational problems with nvidia cards.

buy another gig and you wont have to worry about lag or any kind of slowing to the game

what's your upload speed?

1.3mbps down is fine. But if it's throttled way down on the upload you may suffer from high ping.

Yeah upload speed is important and that the internet provider has decent equipment and capacity to handle traffic at peak times of the day.

You sir are wrong. Try playing on a connection with high latency and then tell me the lag doesn't have anything to do with the connection.
