Okay I bought the game a week ago and installed it. When I tried to play it, it just went to a black screen and crashed to the desktop. I then realized I needed a new video card so I went and bought an ATI Radeon 9250 and installed the drivers for it. The game will now actually attempt to load but it just goes from black screen to a game screen for a second, then back to a black screen again. It keeps doing that. During the whole time I do have a mouse arrow in the screen and I can hear the Battlefield 2 Music but cant do anything. I have updated the patch for Battlefield 2 but it does the same thing Can someone please help me on fixing the problem?

I do have the bare minimum of 512mb of Ram but I don't think that is a problem.

Have you seen any other threads about Crash To Desktop ?

Have you tried deleting your pofiles in /my docs/BF2/ ?

Yeah I read them but mine is not crashing to the desktop anymore. It is acting like its trying to load, I can hear the music and everything and it will flash between a couple Battlefield Screens but it goes right back to black screen very quickly. I did try to delete the profiles but it didn't seem to help.

I don't think I may of been detailed enough. The opening videos work just fine. It doesn't start freezing on the black screens while playing music until right after the videos where it sais Welcome Recruit. And it gives me option for single player or online.

Is it a 2.4 or 2.8, it contradicts itself in the description. Put all of your vid settings to lowest possible and try. Sounds like your system is too weak.
