fps trouble

Heres my specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1 gig ram
6600gt 128mb AGP (77.77 drivers)

I've set the graphics to 1024X768 with everything medium except dynamic shadows and lighting which are on low, 100 draw distance.
The problem is that on single player i get 90-100 fps but online on a 64 player server i get between 45 and 60. can anyone help?

I don't see the problem. You're supposed to get less fps on a map with more players. That's fine

It there a reason you are using old drivers?

yea why are u using old drivers...

i use the old drivers because for me the 81.95 and 81.98 drivers start out smooth but soon degrade into bad fpses.

whereas 78.01 seems to stay stable...

um those r great frame rates but u should still upgrade that gfx card i dont see the point of bf2 if ur gunna play bf2 on low settings one of the only good parts about the gamne is its good gfx ;)

maybe cause the older drivers give twice the perfomance of the new POS drivers...
