I'm not sure if you can do it in BF2 but i think in 42 you could type hud 0 in the console and it would not show anything. It was perfect for screenshots.

i just tested it

Here's the deal with grappling heli's

Hovering with the MEC transport chopper:

1. I grapplinged INTO the rear door while it was hovering

2. It worked while it was hovering

3. Gaining altitude imediatly drops the hook to the ground, because the grappling hook cannot process the gain and it stays (which makes it fall through)

4. Dropping altitude works, becuase when you change the altitude the grappling resets and falls again. Since the floor of the heli is lower - it will still fall onto it.

Other than that, it is a sneaky way to avoid being seen and confuse the enemy when their UAV blinks but they can't see anyone :D
