I just realised, the servers are a little packed up right now. GO play some battlefield and try again later I would. They're not normally like this.

May I also remind you that the upload took 7 hours last night (overnight) so it will be a while before more mirrors are available. Kayess will be in touch soon enough, as I PM'ed the link when servers were empty this morning before this thread was made. He can tell you what goes on.

wow xalias u blow me away again, lmao at air mine, that was just too funny. blackhawk c4 jumpin was insane, i didnt think u could out-do the c4 jumping but damn. even tho ive seen 50% of the video already, i enjoyed re watching it, amazing how jumbling things up can help :) personally i love the movie 10/10 and i think its a real contender and could nock 'mine' off the top for funniest bf2 movie, all in all, great movie (and well worth the 12 bucks to upgrade my account so i could download it lol (12 buck a year = 1 buck a month = 50p a month, gotta love exchange rate) well worth the wait, and if u havent seen the first 2 i assume the movie would be alot more funnier. be sure to Email/PM me if u ever attempt a SF version :)

great movie 10/10

I have a 15mbps downstream, and I'm struggling to reach 75kbps (usually around 60kbps). Will edit post in and hour or so when the download is down.

Kayess, I sent you a PM, and thankyou for the thread feedback.

@everyone else: I will do my utmost to upload to another server ASAP, I have chosen http://battlefield2.filefront.com/ (http://battlefield2.filefront.com/) for the 3 more mirrors. Hopefully the filefront server will loosen up in the mean time since it’s hard for me to tell when I can find another 7 hour time slot for me to upload again.

EDIT: I've e-mailed Bf2files about it and they might download it for me and host it. It will save allot of time this way.

great vid, what oakenfold song was that?

Sir. XaliaS
01-03-2006, 10:46 AM
That oakenfold song was on an exclusive album I ordered called 'Feed your mind' - I think it's the first track, there's some fantastic music on it, I've got a couple more tunes planned for another movie or credits roll.
And the version you heard just now was much shortened.

Nice vid,

we had same idea at the same time for many sequences
You even made one I was planning to do :cussing:

But I really prefer the way you introduce those special jeeps
And nice sound editing

STOP video with boring story of people fighting for honour, liberty, friendship :blabla: or whatever
DO video like this one and mine ... and mine too

:laugh2: my first joke in english :yay:

Sir. XaliaS
01-03-2006, 02:04 PM

Although jokes are a plenty in this movie, I fear some won't get the dry British sense of humor.

Xalias, had another question for ya. Is your sound settings on 'ultra high' in game? The helicopters sounded incredible, and the blackhawk minigun also. You might of added some bass on some of the sounds, but just the sound in general sounded so nice.

Mine is on high, my card can't support ultra high. And I remember how much of a difference the sound changed from just going from medium to high.

Again, great vid.

Answering questions...

First, I can't believe filefront is screwing us over, they will be getting another e-mail plus I'm still waiting for bf2files to host, I have no reply yet.

The sound, hmmm it's tricky to say why the quality is so great, compared to in-game sounds found in... Let’s say "mine" - coz I just watched it again.
But I can give you some key details.

The Bf2 settings are on medium.
FRAPS was on auto detect
My windows sound config (the little speaker icon) was in stereo mix, recording mode.
I have an AC97 onboard sound chip.
Use C-media drivers UDA_039

And it's funny you say bass has power, you see, I love my audio drivers, I use because it has a unique feature which is "bass boost", very useful if you have tiny speakers like me, but I have no idea what it sounds like on any other speaker system with 'normal' settings. The sound warbles for me, so to fix it I have the balance the over bass with the Wave control, which is about half way down.
I may sound complicated but If I were to upload a mp3 of what each config setting does you may understand it better.

Of course I also did allot of sound editing in Vegas, but that was mostly volume control, cross fading, cutting, looping, etc. But nothing to do with the bass or quality.

P.S.
If anyone is actually interested in this movie anymore or could not download before, your be pleased to know I have contacted fileplanet, and I may find you guys a new mirror within the next few days.

10/10 BEST BF2 MOVIE EVER! i will be reccomending this movie to everyone i play BF2 with.

now, if you will PLEASE tell me how you did the "SF CLan" text effects with Vegas 6 i would greatly appreciate it. i use vegas myself but am not very good at it so some tips would be nice.

EDIT: also, might i suggest you enter this in the www.bf2tracker.com video contest? there is a post on the main page with all the info, check it out.

Rules:

The video-length should be under 5 minutes.Lol, sort of blew that rule away really. But maybe I could submit a single section from my movie. I'll give it a try tonight, and I'll call a vote on it if you guys know the best sketch from the compilation. "back to the future", "airmine" etc.

And thanks to everyone for the kind works. Shame filefront didn't start off as good,
Joe, I would appreciate that very much.

P.S. I'm not at home right now, but I can give you some screenshot of the setting in vegas to get that custom effect later.

The SF Text
I’m not sure about your knowledge around Vegas so I covered the basics.
1) Firstly the basic text settings...

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Xalias/SFtext1.jpg
The glow is an outline with is made to feather out, but not too much as we want it to follow the letters quite accurately.

2) The text overlay is positioned and fading in and out accordingly. The effect "TV simulator" is applied with default settings.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Xalias/SFtext.jpg
3) As you move the video forward you set each key property in the diamond graph at the bottom on the effect window.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Xalias/SFtext2.jpg
To stop to text from going static after the fade in, you set line sync and vertical sync at max (1) with the rest at 0 (the red diamond). The speed at which scan phasing occurs (this being the apparent flashing of text) is adjusted to the soundtrack beat.

After the effect has gone on long enough, copy and paste the red diamond (which would be grey as default, as red is actually telling it to "hold" automatically) to where you want it to start fading back to the default effect settings, with the total fade out of the text overlay.

There you go, hope that helps.
You can invent tonnes of snazzy text effects like that (and "The Uncappables")

The end title effects are allot more complex, and more effects have been used together along with the animation of movement.

I don't know the about the status with Joe, he told me he would host for a while but had problems and I haven't heard of since.
I'm also looking into filecloud but have no idea how to upload to them without paying a fee that I won't use.

Beautiful movie. I love the way you used sound to enhance the overall video, as well as the beautiful effects you used. Hats off to you sir (Though try removing nametags next time, and disable the gameHUD for in-game shots).

If some of you are still having trouble I will be able to upload it too http://www.badongo.com/ (http://www.badongo.com/) tonight.

Currently I'm debating which sketch I should submit to bftracker for the competition. I would start a new thread with a poll, but it would be easy if we voted here.
How's everybody feeling about naming the best sketch in the compilation? Or shall I make a new thread?

Get DivX, Xvid, Windows Media player 10 and FRAPS (includes a codec) is all the help I can offer you.

P.S. There is now a new mirror to download this movie, (see first page) (http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48863)
The new file is zipped and includes a new, bonus GIF Pack.

Unfortunately the server has split the file in 3 without my consent, and you need their file merger to get it to work which I have no knowledge of.
Good luck downloading; the download speeds are very low on my system.
