LOL you should see the one someone edited into Teamkilling it was funny as heck...
"if you land like this" it was a failure in the tail rotor wich wasnt the pilots fault

It was a pilots fault look at how he landed on the tail \

You idiot..
If you know anything about aviation, what the pilot was doing was flaring his helicopter to slow the rate of decent.
He touched down on the rear wheels, but at that moment, there was a failure in the tail rotor (which counteracts the main rotor, to prevent the heli from spinning, just like THAT.). Because of this, the helicopter spun out of control.

Check out the comments on the video already..
"Hello, (or good night) I'm a french men. I just want to say that this helicopter is one the Army, and the guys are members of the GIGN (Groupe d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale). I hope you know it.
It was in 1999, and nobody was hurt.
I forgot to say it was a pilot error, he got no experience, he came too fast and the tail of the helicopter hit the ground. The co-pilot, more experienced, decided to lay down the copter.
Sorry for those borring explanations."

um..exactly when in the video does the tail rotor clip the ground other than the initial crash? The camera zooms into the view, and doesnt show the tail region at all.
The comment left under the video is complete and utter bullcrap. "He got no experience"? They dont just pick up a buss driver and tell him to fly an army helicopter.
If it was a less experienced pilot persay, than he wouldn't even be the pilot in command at all. He would be the co-pilot, with the "more-experienced co-pilot" as the main pilot.

Yeah i dont know if its an accident or not, but did they do the right proedures for landing a broken chopper? it seemed like it, i mean all the guys got inside as quick as they could to prepare..

The way I see it the pilot was landing like an aircraft. Didnt you see the way it skid across the field? Came with too much speed, the tail rotor can defekt without it hitting the ground. A soldid knock could defekt the mechanism.

Well guys, it kinda hit the ground at alot of speed and the back of the heli did hit the ground before anything else, you can't see the back of it but it's obvious cause you can hear a "bunk" and the physics make it clear that he hit the ground with the back of it, and guys, if the guy know enough that he knows, what unit they where from, the pilot, co-pilot thingy, and what people servived I think he would have the correct info... I think it was deff. the pilot, he hit the ground goin way to fast, he should came in on a slow hover (IMO) so I think it was the pilot....

P.S. Or it could've been W's fault :D
