I was just now perusing the Media forum when I noticed the video recently posted by thoob. I was surprised by the sheer volume of responses to a video that hadn't been there just a few hours earlier and, sure enough, it had been relocated from the General section.

Within the span of 17 hours, thoob had received more replies to his video than most people receive for theirs over the course of 2-3 weeks. The reason seems clear enough ... what with the General forum typically having ten times as many people viewing at any given stage of the day/night.

Don't get me wrong ... I think the layout of this site is fantastic and having a forum devoted to Media is a particularly good idea. However, I can't help but feel sorry for some of the BF2 movie-makers who correctly post in the Media section and are rewarded with just a fraction of the exposure received by those who post their movies in General.

I'm yet to post a movie myself but I've seen a lot of really good work miss out on a wide audience and a decent amount of feedback simply because their offerings are kept out of General.

So, I was wondering:

How about letting those who post movies have a brief spell in General -- say, 3-5 days -- before their thread gets relocated to the Media section?

I understand it's bothersome having to move threads but a grace period could lead to a significantly wider audience for the BF2 films and a lot more feedback (in terms of both quantity and quality) for their creators.

I know it would mean a great deal to those who work so hard to create BF2 movies to entertain the community.
