The L96A1 is the British Army designation of the standard AWC PM. The L96A1 won a British Army competition by a slight margin over the Parker-Hale M85 to become the standard sniper rifle for the British Army. The PM utilizes an aluminium frame over which is placed a high impact plastic stock. An adjustable Parker Hale Bi-Pod is fitted as standard. An uprated version, the AW, features many minor improvements, including an easier bolt action, frost proof mechanism, muzzle brake and a 10x42 hensoldt telescopic sight. The L96A1 is capable of sub MOA with military ammo, and gets to about half of that with good match grade ammo. The AW is imported to the US by Accuracy International, and is for sale to the public.

Ya, right, the PSG-1 is a DMR, it's definetly not, the PSG gets a sub-1MOA for 50 rounds not just ur normal 3 rounds. BUt the M14DMR is a DMR, the MSG-90 is KINDA like a DMR.

Why would they make it a 1-shot kill like in CS? It's not as high calibre as the M95 and they didn't make that godlike. They'll probably just change the scope and copy the stats of the M24.

IMO, the M24/M95 in the game are both one shot kill weapons in the hands of a skilled sniper (read: headshot). :)

The AWP in CS, if memory serves correctly, was a .338 and not a .308. Pretty substainal differ between the 2 calibers. The .338 was more kin to the .50 in respect to power and range.

CS had no room for such a rifle. To use a rifle like that you need Novalogic's expansive world.

I would like to see a DMR as an unlock for the Assualt or maybe a new spotter class(able to provide support to sniper, grapple hook, and possibly a laser designator).

The AW SM can be chambered with the .338 Lapua Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum and 7mm Remington Magnum in real life, and the CS version uses the .338 in CS right (I don't play CS)?

So the AWP in real life uses the 7.62x51mm. So this isn't the CS AWP, but just plain vanilla L96A1. I fired this rifle in Kosovo, it is real nice.

But then again, ONE of teh L96A1 varients can fire the .338 Lapua round that's in CS. So it is ALMOST the same rifle as the AWP in CS, but it fires a different, smaller, less powerful round, so ya, my guess is it'll be just like the M24.

Yes, ok, CS is a very different game. This rifle will not be a one hit kill, that is almost certain, I would nearly bet my life on that ;) (the community would be outside DICE headquaters with pitchforks)

I would hope there is some differences between this rifle and the others. A better scope, with a secondary zoom would be amazing. Doubtful though.

I just want an accurat, yet 2 kill-gun (at the chest) sniper to wield something different than the m24 once in a while. Adjustable scopes would be neat, maybe you should be able to choose your magnification on the scopes when you pick your weapon. phew...I'm rambling now.

the awp isnt always one shot kill... when i used to shoot ppl on italy when they jumped across the market corridor id hit them in the leg and the blighters would live... 80 odd damage i think it was... thank god for nades :D

The weapons in CSS aren't messed up, it is the hitboxes which make the game really off and unpredicatable. There is a video on it somewhere on the internet and you can try it too in the game somehow.

Also, the L96 will come with the patch along with the P90 and will also be in the expansions as well. This is because the other two classes don't have tier 2 unlocks.

Hes 100% correct, most Snipers out there prefer bolt action because its much safer and better, where semi automatic rifles are for Snipers that are for instance attacking that may be called up to take out a target very quickly or help out other units that are pinned and need to get outa there VERY quickly.
