I'm always surprised when I visit friends (some of whom play BF2) and I see 30+ processes running and a tray fulla CRAP!

I've been managing my memory since EMM back in the DOS days...oh...those were the days.

End anything that isn't listed as 'SYSTEM' or 'NETWORK SERVICE'...unless you see one listed under your username that you KNOW you want running during BF2 (e.g. SetPoint for extended mouse mapping).

This is all in the BF2 manual (believe it or not).

i have ended quite alot of them but kept the netowk sevices and the system ones running. but now when i hit ctl+alt+dlt i cant see the top of the bar like where its says shutdown, procesess and the other stuff ? i dnt no what i have done lol i resarted it and it still the same :confused: :confused: :hmm:

I used to have 51 I got it down to 27 with this program called smartclose. Someone posted about it on these forums.

You can't mess up your PC by killing processes with Task Manager. Be careful when disabling services though...

Umm... 37 here, on an Athlon XP 3200+ with 0% CPU usage. About twenty of them are security programs and things like that. Doesn't slow down my PC or anything, though.

i got bout 3% cpu but now i cant see that at all or how many i have got runnning coz of this thing that has jst happend .

actually just go into msconfig and look at services tab:
go to start -> run -> msconfig and ullsee it

Go to Start->Run->Services.msc if you want to play with your services properly.
