Ok so this is kinda weird. I go to play BF2 today and everything seems normal, but after the woman on the intro says "Welcome to duty" and I begin to login, the sound totally drops out?!? Everything seems normal but shortly after logging in BF2 terminates and the comp goes back to the desktop. Another time, I was able to join a server for like 10 seconds and it terminated to desktop again. The only thing I've changed recently was I added a sound blaster X-Fi, but I've run BF2 for a few days before this happened today without any problems. I also bought Far Cry last night and installed it this morning before I tried BF2, but I don't see how that could cause any problems? I've tried reinstalling the 1.12 patch and that didn't work, and I just uninstalled and am now reinstalling BF2. If that doesn't work does anybody have any other ideas of what I should do? Thanks

well i reinstalled and a couple of things happen. now as i am logging in and when i am looking at servers, I have nothing but the "click" sound effects when I am looking through things. that's fine with me. the music while the map is loading plays now, and the game doesn't crash anymore. But during all this I got another weird problem. After I reinstalled i went into the video and audio to set everything. before I did the reinstall, ultra high under audio was always red, not letting me select it. but now I am able to select ultra high, and since i just recently got an X-Fi i did. I'm happy it's working now but i still find it all kinda weird
