Black screen at startup

Everytime I try to start the game all i get is a black screen and some kinda error. Then I gotta hit enter or alt-f4 to get out.

My setup:
Athlon 64 3700+
MSI NX6600GT 128mb PCI-E
1gb RAM
ECS KN1 SLI Lite Motherboard

I have the latest video and motherboard drivers. Any idea what could be wrong?? BF2 is the only game im having a problem with, HL2, Doom3, etc all run great at full settings.

What does the error message say?

It doesnt say anything, all i see is a black screen i just know theres an error cuz if i hit alt-tab i can see an error window.

try different video drivers maybe? which are you using? anything special we need to know about?

I'm currently using version 81.98 drivers. My PSU is only 350watts which is the minimum for this card, could that have anything to do with it? Also my video card is only running at pci-e 8x, I researched it and It's because my motherboard is built to always run in SLI mode for some reason, even tho I only have 1 card.

the x8 thing dont worry about, the PSU... possibly. But dont go and spend 80$ just yet.

Anybody else know anything about this problem? It's frustrating the sh*t out of me.
