hehehehe i remember when i first got it - I FEEL YOUR PAIN BROTHER - more often than not the most confusing thing is just finding where all the buttons tht the tutorials tell you to use are... stick with it - one day the "eureka!" lightbulb will go off and it will open a whole new perspective on gaming for ya.... good luck!!!

As someone who has recently bought MAX (I usually use XSI) and wanted a good tut, I can thoroughly recommend the ones by KURT at www.simplymax.com

as has been stated already:
Wolf']Heres a few good video tutorials

http://www.simplymax.com

They will guide you through step-by-step to create something you can be proud of. I'm not on commission- I'm just a teacher who can recognise talented tution when he sees it.

Some are free- others are available to pruchase using their points system- or available on DVD. Well worth it. I've googled like a mofo looking for decent tuts- these guys assume NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of MAX (other than knowing how to launch it...LOL)- Perfect.

Do check it out.

Web-page tuts are good as well, although nothing beats having a vid playing for you to pause and go to MAX and work up to that point....or to replay. Don't be afraid of using your skills to add more details/other artistic touches...their (simplymax)vids actually encourage you to do it. There are intermediate tuts for you once you have found your feet.

Here you go mates. Something simple to start out with. However, just understand I dug this up so it is rather old and confusing at points. GMAX and 3dsmax are basically the same, so have fun.

Why dont you just use the tutorials on the DVD? They are honestly the best way to get started using max and the easiest ones to find.
