G'day,

As usual, the in-game server broswer (like most fps games) doesn't list all the servers. So I tried connecting to a server using Xfire, but that just takes me to the login screen.
I was told that you have to install patch 1.02 to connect to it, now my battlefield doesnt even open-it opens a black screen then closes.
I tried installing patch 1.12, but that makes my computer load like crazy for 10+ min. Is it supposed to do this and eventually say Patching done?
How can I connect to battlefield 2 servers using a 3rd party program? (ie: Xfire)
Ive searched and havn't got many answers.

Any help will be appreciated,

-jack

About the 1.12 patch, yes, it is supposed to just say patching system/please wait or whatever, it took about 5 - 10 minutes to finish for me.

Xfire obviously doesn't work to join a server, so go download the Battlefield 2 Auto Loader. It lets you browse through a master server list from outside the game and load it from outside the game too.

I don't know what to say about your crashing though...:(

Ok, ive downloaded battlefield 2 auto loader, but no servers come up in the master server list. Is this because I have only version 1.0?

Most likely, you'll need to have 1.12 installed for it to find the right servers. I don't think any servers use anything else now...

Did you reinstall the auto loader after you patched the game? It may be that the auto loader is looking for a file version that doesn't exist on your computer anymore.
