I'm getting tired of vanilla bf2 so like....what is the most played mod out there right now? I would like to download a mod that people are actually playing online.
So whats out there?

At first you'll say : WTF is tHIS?
but you 'll start to like the teamplay effort, this mod is driving players to.

Quick rundown of some of the features.

More accurate and powerful infantry weapons.

More focus on teamplay.

Tanks have slectable rounds - Armour peircing / HE anti personanel and smoke.

Why smoke you ask - cos the smoke button now gives you a 10x optical zoom :D

No crosshairs from standard view - but bonus on fixed mgs is that you can zoom in and have crosshair.

A new gametype Advance and Secure.

Lots more besides - the guys are basically striving for realism, so many factors are changed.

Also worth checking out is the desert conflict ctf mini mod, which is quite cool even in low player count servers.

USI should still be good though... like many others based on tht same time period.... rising conflicts, POE and DCON come to mind.... all looking high quality. i am just very impressed with the way things are panning out for FH2 (very nice updates :) )... damn fine work...

Well bout realitymod thats all well and good. But when is version 1.0 coming out?

And the vietnam mod and the WWII one both sounds interesting...but I mean is there anything completed with a full version 1.0 that is out there now that people are playing? :confused:

There arent any full blown MODs out yet bro. Reality MOD and BF2 pro are out, but they are just tweaks and such, not a full MOD. CTF DCON is out and is a lot of fun, but nobody has finished yet.

FH2 will be awesome, just like the BF1942 version was. POE looks bad ***, along with apocalypse and several others.

Of course I am partial to DCON, no real suprises there. To answer your question though, no full blown MODs are done, and most of us are way past sick of BF2 vanilla. Not because the game isnt fun, but because EA pays no attention to the scene. Thanks God Trauma is starting thier own company in NY after getting screwed hard by EA. I cant wait to see what they come up with. You can bet they will pay attention to the scene and what we want in a game.

When full MODs come out, support them please. People want MODs, but leave them high and dry too quickly. It takes a ton of work to make one, and we dont get any money for creating them. (at least I dont, lol)

Project Reality is by far the best mod out currently.

Its way more than just a few tweaks. Its very professional, and especially if your sick of vanllia, is leaps & bounds above every other mod released if your looking for teamwork.

Project Reality is amazing, there modifications and new weapons\vehicles are high quality. The gameplay is a mojor concern with BF2, PRMM has picked up the slack nicely.

In terms of the MODs comming out with all new maps, and a total conversion from BF2, well there still in the works. Picking your favorite amongst thigs that no one has played yet because they arent finished is premature in a way.

My own picks though

WW2 = Forgoten Hope 2

Modern Combat = Desert Conflict

Unique = Battlefield Apocalypse

There are so many goof looking ones though, I hope everybody gets there MODs finished. Variety is the spice of life.:cool:

what mods have did you play before? i was a big DC freak so I have a keen eyeball on DCON.

FH2 looks great but im just sick of ww2 at this stage. but i still may try it when its released.

but tbh im also getting a litte bit sick of the whole US vs MIddleEast stuff, and it seems POE2 will answer me there. i just cant ****ing wait for this bad boy to come out. never played POE but the stuff ive seen for its sequal just look so damn good!

Project Reality is simple great, but it doesn't work with 1.2. So now you must wait for the version 0.25 (coming soon).

Antoher good mod is Desert Conflict CTF, in 0.2 version. It doesn't work too, but there is a patch for the mod (0.22). You must download and install 0.2, and then download and install 0.22 (0.22 could not work if 0.2 isn't installed).

I'm waiting for POE2 and US Intervention. The others are just fun mods, for one game or two, while POE2 is a mod which will stay on servers.
I know Forgotten Hope 2 too, but with a bad nvidia 5200FX, it don't interest me at all :( (please, God, make my mother buy 7800GS AGP ! :D)

yes a mod has it's own directory and any modified files are in it not the main BF2 one.

First strike looks pretty sweet too...also as far as total conversion mods, there is that WWII mod CE ledgens, thats kinda interesting (not many servers, but its kool because there are these huge zepplins that you can drive around!!)
