Basically when trying to patch to v1.2 it fails, I will try and document everything I tried. Also I could never get patch 1.12 to complete.
It started with it failing on bf2.exe, I reinstalled and then it would fail on mods/bf2/objects_client.zip file. I tried clearing out the temp directory and still fails on the same place. I reinstalled the game tried installing in safe mode, still fails on the object zip file. There was one time it actually successfully installed and when trying to run the game I got ~e5.0001 has encountered a problem and will shut down, I have not gotten back to this point. I contacted EA support, I tried everything they suggested which entailed:
creating a new admin account
changing my refresh rate on my video card to 60Hz :confused:
installing in safe mode
downloading the complete update again (5+ hours both times I downloaded it from EA)
I seriously think I have spent more time installing and reinstalling this game then actually playing it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also I do not have SF.
I am able to play with the basic install without any problems but the number of ranked servers running 1.0 is getting fewer by the day.
