I heard you can't, only the P90 and L69A1, it had to do with memory issues I think. It's answered in one of the TBF2 interviews.

Edit: Here it is.

Q: Will the new unlockables in the Booster Packs be available on regular Vanilla and Special Forces servers?

A: That was the original intent, but the addition of all the weapons was too much of a burden in terms of memory. I would really like for us to find a better solution for this in the future so we can provide more and more unlocks.

I really don't understand how that screws up the memory. Sounds like the beginner programmers they have patching BF2 couldn't figure it out.

It doesnt "screw up" memmory, its just takes too much memmory to load all the textures and models of the new weapons.

And when you say memmory.. you mean brain power from dice..

I don't see how some small textures and models for weapons can cause that much of a problem. I'm pretty sure that's ********. Less than 1% of people who play BF2 run at 512MB ram since it's so unplayable.

Hey, im enjoying it... the L96 more than the P90, I don't own SF even tho I have practically every possible unlock except the useless mp7 and that strange support weapon that is all in black.

Cool tho.

How?!

p.s.: The strange support weapon is G36 with a Beta-C mag.

Its not just models for weapons that have to be loaded into memory. Every model for the weapons has to be loaded, every animation for each weapon has to be loaded, every sound for the weapons has to be loaded, and every sound for them has to be loaded. The info for damage and all those things have to also be loaded. As booster packs/expansions come out they would have to keep doing this for everyone, and they would all add up over time. They may also be looking at the fact that people complained that others who played reg BF2 couldnt use the expansion weapons while others could use the weapons against them.

You don't have to own SF to gain the unlocks, you just have to have played it once.

You are all wrong... memory of your PC's is not the problem... the problem is the memory it costs on the gamespy profile server to individually enable these unlocks. If you give the ability to unlock the weapons of one booster, you have to give the ability to give the unlocks of ALL boosters.
The size of the textures, meshes and code of a faction's kit-set is around 14MB so this cannot be a system memory problem...

Size on disk or size loaded in memory in-game ? (i agree it seems it couldn't be the case but the game seems so riddled with stupid f-ups i wouldn't be amazed if the data was expanded to something like 50 megs a kit)

Wow I'm one of the 1% who play BF2 on 512 mb ram?

As for the unplayability it's not the case for me (which is surprising considering im running a nvidea 5500 pci *not express video card) and it may take a while to load but I can deal with that.

Maybe because my ram is ddr2 it helps out a bit, I still wish I had a gig.

Have you ever tried to render a Cinema 3D Movie? obiously not.

I took a really crappy course that's required at school and if you changed the color of the "glass" texture to blue, it would take twice as long. Take it from me, it does take alot of memory.
