Euro Forces Booster Pack - Download

I am from Switzerland/Europe and I got my Euro Forces Booster Pack today. Since I do not have a credit card, I bought the download-code in my local game-store. When I started the installation, I was already afraid that something might not work, since it is one of those super-automatic-runnin-in-the-background-installations...

First you have to have your EA account- and Gamespy account-data ready. Then you have to download an installation-programm first (8MB), then you have to start this little programm, login and then you are permitted to download the booster pack...

after 65% of downloading, I got this error message:

"Error: 7049:600
Unidentified Encrypted Download Service Error.
Servers may be unavailable -You should wait and try again later.
"

I knew it! I knew there will be something not working... it's EA! It's in the game... rofl...

The date of the release for Euroforces was put back untill the 1.21 hotfix comes out thats why you proberly cant download it yet there changing things.

hmm... why they would not allow me to play-test the new maps in the single player mode? A patch is usually installed OVER an existing game and it should not matter, what version of the game I have... oh well... btw, there is a new error message displayed right now:

"Server at full capacity - estimated waiting time: [empty space]"

Would be nice if you can buy a download key in the UK as I haven't got a CC, but I'd wait until 1.21 patch is released first. :)

Well, I played the SP... I like the new maps, especially "Operation Smoke Screen" where everything is covered with some black smoke. You cannot see far... also the "Great Wall" map, which is surrounded by a huge wall... it will be intersting to see how this plays online...

btw, handling of the Euro Fighter is great!!

there are - of course - no servers around yet, but it's good beeing able to play the maps and learn...

I agree. It should be released at the same time, to avoid any advantages. It would be cool to play with a bunch of guys who have never played the map before. To all those that come up against me :ar15: then when I run out of ammo and the stupid comander does not drop a supply crate :box: and then when I am tired of that :nerr: and when I am finally killed by the enemy it back to :ar15: and :cussing: while the enemy can no longer bunny hop away from my fire :banana:

I got mine today. I live in the uk and got it from the downloader after paying online. ;)

First impressions of the maps.

Great Wall looks like a nice infantry map. Especially when on size 16 map as all the combat takes place inside and on the walls. There are only Jeeps and a couple of mobile AA's in there. Plenty of CQB to be had and it looks very nice. On 32 player map it has 4 spawns outside the walls. One in each corner with one base being uncappable for Euro and one for Chinese. The spawns outside contain tanks but thankfully NO air assts at all so it's all on foot with the odd armour needing to be disposed of.

Taraba Quarry reminds me a lot of Zatar wetlands. It's wide open with plenty of air options. Plenty of tanks and even acp's littered around the map too. Think the middle flag on Zatar and this is a full map in that taste. I can't see any heli's at bases unless there's a cappable base somewher with one spawning. Again like Zatar.

Operation Smoke Screen looks sexy but isn't as big as you think. Small pockets of houses in the desert surrounded by burning oilfields. Tanks are everywhere on this map and it boasts both Jets and attack heli's at the main spawn. Plenty of tank battles here. Reminded me of Jarhead.

I got the DL code, but can't get it to download anything...

Was hoping to be able to play some EF SP maps, and test the jets, I get a similar problem as the topic starter, only that I cannot download anything.
It gives me an error after about 5 seconds of idling.

Error:7049:0

keep trying, the server are very busy, they even might be down for a while.. eventually it will start downloading... I had to wait too, but then from one moment to the other it worked and after about 15 minutes it was done... (wieso redä mier eigentlich änglisch?) LOL... ;-)

btw, where are you playing? I am mostly playing on the ricola- or swissquake-servers...

I was very patient but it wouldn't work. It would always just give me the error message after 5 seconds. Then when I'll click on ok, the download status would go back to "ready to download".

I'll get on the swissquake/ricola server tonight. See how we teamplay :)

Downloaded in less than 20 mins. I passed the info on to a freiend of mine and he did the same. He's also in England.

Ps, the way I did it, I never saw a download code.

I got it yesterday.........I'm in the US. The servers that are up were empty last night. There's a trick to connecting. You have to launch the downloader and change your gamespy name to your official name that you use in the game.

derzeit ist leider kein Download von Euro Forces über den EA Downloader möglich. Der Download wird zum offiziellen Release des Spiels wieder freigegeben sein. Also zu dem Zeitpunkt, wo auch alle Server auf Euro Forces umgestellt werden.
Wir Danken Ihnen für Ihr Verständnis.

Falls Sie allerdings Patches zum Spiel benötigen, dann können Sie diese auch im Internet auf der Seite www.electronicarts.de unter Download/Patches runterladen.

I have a EA Downloader name that is a bit different from my screen name in BF2. If I try to login using this screen name it will give me a logon error.
I had to create a new account at EA Store to be able to download, and my BF2 login name was for some reason already taken...

You should be able to launch the downloader and then you should see a little link there that says "edit gamespy name" or something to that effect. Then just type in your BF2 gaming name twice and save. See if that helps.

I changed my gamespy ID to the same that I use in the downloader. Didn't work...
Also I didn't have that little link thingy to gamespy that you were mentioning. Had to go through gamespy installation on my designated junk PC ;)
Perhaps you had a different downloader version?

I have the same problem with Special Forces! I also live in Switzerland and I do not manage to join the customer service of France. I have either the message 7049:0 or no message, but download never starts. As Alphanut I have a name of account EA and another name in BF2

Download got dropped at 274MB. Same error occured as before... Only difference was that I actually was able to download something...
Does not want to download anymore...

Sorry to hear that you all are having Downloading problems. You all think its because the servers are getting over loaded with all the people trying to download? This is why I think they should have at least gave another option to buy the game. Like sell in stores like BF2:SF.

No mate I know it's not a server overload.
Same problem since over a month here... Release date was much earlier in switzerland.
I believe they messed up the accounts with the download codes. Or at least some of them.

The people that are having problems, what OS are the running? Read a post that people that running windows 2000 are having problems.

No mate, my OS and system is fine.
Trust me, it's not the system failing - at least not for those of us that are getting Error:7049:0
The issue is on EA's side 110% sure.
