I cannot guarantee anything apart from I did it this way and am able to play the maps on singleplayer and over a LAN. I've also had a good friend of mine do exactly the same and he too has Euro Forces Downloaded, installed and ready to play. All we need now is for EA to release the server clients so we can play them online.

Things you will need are..

* Credit card details
* Common sense

First of all go HERE (https://account.ea.com/commerce/product-info.jsp?ipath=15&locale=en_US&sls=2&site=eaco&prodid=bf2euro&skin=eacom&app=commerce)


Select the BUY NOW option as shown below.

It should take you to this page below. If it doesn't then you may have to create a new account with EA to download it as some people had discrepancies if they hadn't already put their billing information on with EA.

Select your country from the drop down list and thn press the GO button.

You will be taken to a login site for BT - Click&Buy.

Create an account if you don't already have one and then you will be taken to the page where you edit your details for the purchase. Billing information etc.

After you've completed the form with your crediut card details etc, You should be taken to this screen.

Purchase your order and then check your given email to confirm payment has been sent to..

Upon starting it up you should see this sexy sight.

Yours will say Ready to download of course. Took me about 20 mins to get it and again it's well worth the £6 I paid for it.

Hopefully you can semi follow that and it helps you grab EF a little quicker like I have.

First impressions of the maps.

Great Wall looks like a nice infantry map. Especially when on size 16 map as all the combat takes place inside and on the walls. There are only Jeeps and a couple of mobile AA's in there. Plenty of CQB to be had and it looks very nice. On 32 player map it has 4 spawns outside the walls. One in each corner with one base being uncappable for Euro and one for Chinese. The spawns outside contain tanks but thankfully NO air assts at all so it's all on foot with the odd armour needing to be disposed of.

Taraba Quarry reminds me a lot of Zatar wetlands. It's wide open with plenty of air options. Plenty of tanks and even acp's littered around the map too. Think the middle flag on Zatar and this is a full map in that taste. I can't see any heli's at bases unless there's a cappable base somewher with one spawning. Again like Zatar.

Operation Smoke Screen looks sexy but isn't as big as you think. Small pockets of houses in the desert surrounded by burning oilfields. Tanks are everywhere on this map and it boasts both Jets and attack heli's at the main spawn. Plenty of tank battles here. Reminded me of Jarhead.

Not tried mate, I've been busy all day to tell the truth. (Not playing EF either ;))

It downloads to the installer and then you can launch from the installer. I'll look into it for you later on when I get home from work.

In those two empty white boxes at the bottom put your gamespy id in, I think that's your game name. I use AnotherEd everywhere, so not sure exactly which one. ffs, why is it all so complicated with names and accounts with EA? Anyways, I put AnotherEd in both of those boxes.

Heres the deal though, lol. It then dumped me at a 404. WTF? So I reclicked on xXMMMSXx's original link and clicked on Buy Now again and it said "thank you for your purchase" and gave me a link to download the EA Downloader. lol. not sure exactly what happened there, but i got it and it's working great.

well I tried everything, reinstaling EAdownloader, making a new account but it's still now working for me. Must be a region thing. I live in Canada and I see most of you guys live in Europe. Bootleg copies?? seeing it's from EA official downloader it can not be bootleg,Basically with you saying it's bootleg you are making out EA supply bootleg games to folk.

I think I heard somewhere that if game stores were caught selling something before release day, they would get a fine for it. True its direct from EA, but what if they could do something to people getting it this way (pre release)?

Bravo had similar problem.

Get onto the Ea site and edit your gamespy id.

Edit it to your in game BF2 name (No prefix) and see how that works.

Well Archer, you have bought the "Right" to download EuroForce from EA, so with this I assume that if a new version of Euroforce is uploaded it will be on EA Downlaoder, ready for you to download

Ok guys, from what i've been trying for the last 10 minutes was trying to access the page from MMMS' screenie he took with the link. This booster clearly isn't finished. The euro fighter on taraba quay is absolutely unflyable. It veers to the right without pressing any buttons on all maps and the tiger can rotate on the helipad before take off or it to has a spasm and explodes

I don't think they care much if a few thousand get their hands on it, after all it gives them an idea of how the booster will do financially. I'm almost certain they wouldn't want the masses getting it though.

Anyway, I'm not worried about getting it earlier than others and being punished for it in any way.

I was one of the lucky ones that was able to download before EA changed it. This version is not going to hurt us. EA will put out the patch and the ones that have it will patch up. I bet when they release it, you will be downloading the same thing that we did. The only difference is there will be that Hotfix patch to go with it. So you will not even see a difference. I like what they did with this. My only complaint is the euro fighter jet. This plane moves like crap. The J-10 is still the most maneuverable plane. I was hoping this plane would be like the J-10 or better. I love that there is so much armor on these maps. Its great to have a platoon of 4 tanks moving together. Sorry for those that couldn't get it in time before EA shut that down.

if u look on the EA downloader to where it says release datefor EF it says 1/7/2006. now i suppose that that was when it was supposed to be originally released until EA decided to not to release it. u will also noticed that patch 1.2 was relased a day before.

Not whining or moaning, but just in case there are other dinosaurs out there like myself, the EA downloader program ONLY works for Windows XP. I still use Windows 2000 Pro and EA Downloader will not work for this. Since Euro Force is only available through the EA Downloader, I will not be buying this product.

ok, some clairification for those of you who thought you could NOT back up the stuff to a cd.

I DID IT WITH SPECIAL FORCES and i WILL DO IT WITH EURO TOO

all you do is go to the install directory of the EA downloader, typically this is

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader

inside that you will find

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\{nameofyouraccount}

inside that you will find these silly little .eam files

example: eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-ep1.eam

once you have downloaded a game such as Special Forces, or Euro Forces, you will find a .eam file that is the SIZE of the total download size shown in your EA downloader.

COPY THESE FILES TO A CD.

now granted its not a 'install cd' per se, however, and yes I have done this numerous times, if/when you decide to reinstall your OS (I do it relatively often to keep it clean) you can then take the cd you backed up the .eam cache files to, and once the EA downloader is installed you can move these files back to thier original place in the cache directory. I have found the easiest way to do this is to install the downloader, log on, and start a download then cancel it. This will create the directory structure if its not there, and makes it easy to copy back over instead of having to create the /cache/{youruseraccountname} directory structure in your program file EA Downloader install directory.

Once these are copied over you will log off and log back into your EA Downloader front end, and it will show that the game in question is now downloaded and ready to install. From there you can run the install the same way as before, which will blow up the .eam file into a useable install directory.

now the ONE thing i have not tried is taking the blown up cache file info and copying that to a cd. but i would assume it would work

once it has been blown up and ill use special forces in this case, you will see a directory structure as follows:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\{youraccountname}\eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-ep1

in this folder is the actual 'setup.exe' file(s) and i would assume you can run the setup from this. IE, burn this directory to a cd, and then try installing it from there. I will try that the next OS reinstall or Hardware upgrade.

there is a slight initial problem on the smoke map with Euro the copters---though the second time around you get the hang of it--- I think 2 of the maps are exceptional,Great & Smoke, and Quarry, is very good(32 player---16 is just solid)--anyway thx again for making this possible man-Again much appreciated

That's a really good question. Though the AA guns are good against infantry and jeeps so I guess it might be for that reason.

Get onto the Ea site and edit your gamespy id.

Edit it to your in game BF2 name (No prefix) and see how that works.

I managed to download it b4 the link went, I suppose the best I can say is you get what you pay for.

I love the way there is no purpose for it and they call it 'European assault' just because the players have a buret on....

Could just have easily have been the armored fury mod as there's just loads of tanks a couple of helos and a couple of euro fighters.

Still nice to have a couple of new maps and the great wall map looks like it's they're 'sniper map' Karkland/Ghost Town/Great wall anyone?

I loaded BF2, and the EF maps etc are there but the descriptions are just called "LOADINGSCREEN_MAPDESCRIPTION_TarabaQuarry" instead of the full thing. and then I can't load the actual map when i start. It comes up with a box saying "MESSAGEHANDLER_bp1mapnotauthorized"

Euro Force ready to roll out next week after delays; booster pack will be downloadable from EA for $9.99 (£5.99).

Gamers desperately awaiting new troops in Electronic Arts' Battlefield 2 will finally get their wish. The military shooter was supposed to get reinforcements in the form of its first booster pack last month, but issues with the game's v1.2 patch forced the publisher to hold off on the add-on's release.

Now, soldiers holding steady for more troops and content can begin marking their calendars. The Battlefield 2: Euro Force booster pack has been given a new release date of March 15. The pack will be available from the EA Downloader, the publisher's digital distribution service, for $9.99 (£5.99).

Why would you need a new shortcut? It adds new content to vanilla BF2. It does not create a new folder like SF did.

You're best chance is to use the browser to see what map is being played and hope that it's still being played by the time you log in, and then hope that people don't get aggrivated with being in an unfamiliar place, getting creamed, and voting for Karkand.

Or will they have to do this each time they want to play EuroForces?

Would be way to easy for EA to make it available for all the nicks. In order for them to follow suit of typical EA stuff, you will probably have to change it each time.... I don't know .. haven't tried it yet.
