View Full Version : 6600gt AGP woes w/ 1.21

Hey everyone,

I'm having CTD and total reboot after about 5-10 minutes of game play now that I've installed 1.21. I've never had issues w/ 1.2 crashing and I could play for hours straight. I did a total reinstall and complete 300+mb 1.21 patch, removed video driver's and update to latest nvidia, etc. to no avail. I also manually updated PB.

im aving same ****, & tbh id forgot playing BF2 until EA/DICE gets their friggin **** sorted, cos its not our hardware its their friggin game.

i am running a 6600gt agp card and have had no problems.

my specs
intel p4 2.9
1gb pc3200 mem
msi motherboard
5meg cable
128 nvidia 6600gt agp

Sux 'cuz I could play retail game, couldn't play the first two patches, played 1.2 perfect, now can't play 1.21. Sux! Clearly isn't my hardware because it worked for a good month str8 with 1.2. It is an issue w/ my hardware and something in the certain patches. Wish I knew what.

Can you tell me the Nvidia version you are using (81.xx) the video version 6.1xx and the bios you are using?

Of course my problem may have nothing to do w/ video card, but gotta start somewhere.

Currently running an Abit NF7 v2.0 and a 6600Gt using the 6.14 beta motherboard drivers,

Still testing the 84.20's out, but they seem ok so far. Was using the 83.90 before that with no problems at all in either 1.2 or 1.21

ive hadden to uninstall BF2 & then reinstall & install with full 1.21 patch now it works.

Stormy,

Can you tell me where you downloaded the beta MB drivers and that version video driver. That is the exact MB and vid card I have, but I'm not running those beta drivers.

I've been on the road so I haven't been able to try the drivers you mentioned. I do have my work laptop w/ me and it is a Gateway M460 w/ a ATI vid card. Loaded everything up, installed patch 1.21, played for 5 minutes and Crash to Desktop.

At least it isn't my home PC like everyone always suggests. Stupid game.
