Whenever I generate lightmaps, I get weird things going on in my map.
1. Objects are shadowed extremely dark. I have the EffectShadow settings real light though.
2. Dark patches on terrain. In the editor it is patches, in the game they are real dark shadows. Looks bad.
Any help appreciated.

Later, as in not now? Should I use Final for the resolution? Also, what are the best settings for generating LightMaps? Thanks.
you painted again your terrain after your mde lightmaps ;)
and yes, final lightmaps are the last step.

No matter what I set for lightmaps or lightsettings for my map, that sandbunker and sandbags are almost black and the rest of the map looks good! It is so annoying. I can't seem to fix it no matter what I set in lightsettings. grrrrr

Copy everything in "TerrainLight.con" and paste it over everything in "ObjectLight.con" which are in "....\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\YOUR_MAP\Editor\"
Then regenerate your lightmaps.

What I found is that the ground gets very dark when you use a cloudy sky.
Try this, make a new map (256 is fine), add one bunker as you have in your level, and paint the ground with the same texture. Don't bother painting the whole thing. Just where your bunker is.
-Generate final lightmaps with the editor defaults - see what you get.
-Now, change the sky.con to the one you have in your current map and generate final lightmaps - you will be amazed at the difference.
The dark patches are because you haven't done final LM or because you painted some more after you had done some. You should always delete the files in the lightmaps folder before regenerating.
