View Full Version : How to download EF without the EA Downloader

PKM_Silencer over at PlanetBattlefield has kindly uploaded the EF files to a webhost for those with problems install and running the EAD.

http://www.spread-it.com/dl.php?id=4443fbb09821e764ba9c76c7d79a97d3391a54fa

This link points to a .rar file which needs to be decompressed (download winrar shareware).
Once done, you just run setup.exe to install EF. There is no need to download or install the EAD.

If the link runs out of bandwidth (may happen) then I can host the files on my own site.

Note : This is *not* warez. It is impossible to play EF online without having bought it and as many know, it's still impossible for some to play it even after having paid for it. It's to those people that this thread is aimed.

Great stuff mate, I just got my copy today from another site hosting the same file :)
Was getting 7049:0 and couldn't download through the downloader.

Thanks again to those who are willing to share their bandwidth with us unlucky ones ;)

Yes Thank you very much!
I am using IE 7 beta and this route worked for me.
Make sure you follow the readme file. ;)
However the ead still does not work for IE 7 beta.

If you can play in single player, it is a warez

Who said you can play singleplayer?
You need to login with your online user account to be able to play.
What's that omg warez hax0r paranoia all about?

File doesn't work for me, tried 4 times, furthest I got was 102mb, every time it either times out, or says the source could not be saved or read please contact the server administrator.

Wow, you sure sound like a nice person don't you.....

If you aren't interesed then don't bother to reply. This thread is for those that need it.

Incidently alphanut....

So, you would actually prefer that this thread get's closed down so you can feel good about being better than another member rather than leaving it open for those that paid for the game but can't play it?

MouseNo4,
If you would've payed attention to the link on the page I referred to you would've not written the commment about not to bother posting it here because of the language. I guess you were just too lazy to read, and wanted to up your post count on this forum...
It clearly sais: Download BF2 Euroforce Boostpack Installer on the very first link... Do you always react like this when someone is trying to be helpful?
I find it a bit ignorant tbh.

And I think that you quoting the board rules is a bit out of bounds.
Don't you think that I would know the board rules after being here for all this time?
I really don't want to start arguing with you, but your comment somehow made me laugh
You are new to the to the Internet aren't you?

Cheers,
AlphaNut

Beowulf,
Download from the page I linked in a previous post in this topic.
I got it off there and was finally able to play the game I payed money for.
It should work for you too. The installer worked like a charm.

I'm not entirely convinced that this is within the terms of the EA EULA, when you install EF (& normally dont read the EULA), there is a section saying -
(f) Export. You agree to abide by U.S. and other applicable export control laws and agree not to transfer the Software to a national destination prohibited by such laws, without first obtaining, and then complying with, any requisite government authorization.
Has anything been put into place by PlanetBattlefield or Spread-It.Com to prevent this ?
This is *not* warez.Probably not, but that "All Rights Reserved" statement means something, redistribution of the software may also be considered a right, which has just been regranted. The EULA also say
(d) resell, relicense or sublicense, lease, lend the Software, or otherwise grant rights in the Software to any third partyWhats being done here may violate that as well.
So, you would actually prefer that this thread get's closed down so you can feel good about being better than another member rather than leaving it open for those that paid for the game but can't play it?
Agreed, those having trouble need help, but EA could take out an injunction & shut down both TBF2 & SpreadIt while they sort out the whole matter (unlikely but is possible), then who would be feeling good ?

I'm not a whistle blower, but you can't take a blase attitude with complicated legal issues.

What about my right to be able to use the software that I purchased?
I paid 18 Swiss Francs plus shipping for the EF download code a good month ago, and have not been able to download until yesterday due to a stupid error in the downloader which is not resolved until today.
I have no clue what caused this error but it sure wasn't a blocked tcp/udp port nor was it a screensaver interfering with the download process.
I believe it was a routing issue somewhere between the server, and some ISPs, and I spent way too much time trying to resolve this problem by support calls, and tickets.

I don't think there is an issue other than a few happy BF2 and now EF players.
So thanks again to the people that have made this alternative way of downloading this game possible.
Thank you.

The software is not worth anything if you don't have an activation for EF logged in your EA/Gamespy player account.
So if you haven't purchased EF you're just wasting your time and bandwidth.

While it is possible to play both BF2 and SF online with a warez copy, you can't do the same with EF, unless of course someone who bought EF links your BF2 account to his purchase.

What about my right to be able to use the software that I purchased? I agree, but 2 wrongs don't make a right. The software was supplied "as is", if you have problems you can't break the terms.

If the file are corrupt then ignore this...

Step 1. Run the setup.exe
Step 2. There is no Step 2

If you get corrupt files, it might also be a problem on your side.
Try re-downloading the files with Firefox for example, or even better try to use a downloadmanager.

Or call your local EA support, and ask them to send you a CD with EF on it :)

Yeah. You just have to download the files, and unzip it. Run the setup and there you go, EF ready for you... ^^

Did you install the incremental patch 1.21 AFTER you installed EF?

What exactly does not work EliteSniper? Can you install the game without an error message, but you can't start EF?

Please be a bit more precise about what is not working :)
Also be aware that you won't see any changes to the regular BF2, but if you check singleplayer you'll notice a few more maps showing up in the map browser.

Hope you get it working soon :)

And about the patch i downloaded it before i payed for the game.

Actually i have been here for a few weeks now and have only just reached 100. At least i put thought into every one of my posts - opinion or argument - whichever it may be.

Being helpful and breaking the law is two different things. Just think about it.
Just check all my posts if you like and tell me how many havent been helpful in some way - either towards the threads topic or to the person who started it.
I only quoted the board rules because you just broke one. And yes i normally would agree that you should know the board rules - just that its obvious you either didnt or didnt care.
Nope i have been on the internet a lot longer than you have.
