maps i got used to easily, the people are another problem. last time i played, there was a magical sniper who NEVER missed. hell, he won 3 games in a row. sprinting, hopping, hiding in a bush, he just walks around a corner and shoots you, 95% of the time in the head. talk about annoying.

If you're talking about The Great Wall, they can do whatever they want, it doesn't do him any good if you're in a tank or APC. :)

I for one took about 1hr to get the hang of the new maps, I REALLY like the Quarry map, and I love the idea of hiding in the smoke to help camouflage my flanking techniques..whether in the Eurocopter or the tanks!

The Great Wall is littered with mines and claymores, that by far would be the biggest "complaint" I have, but when I have a compotent gunner in the tank, I can count on him to switch to the driver seat, smoke me, and I disarm the mines. As for the claymores, I just take them out with the tanks!

I like OSS, but it really sucks if your team doesn't like to use tanks because then it turns into a baserape fest. Same goes for Taraba Quarry.

Great Wall, however, I'm still on the fence with. It's a great map for snipers, but the points are really far away from each other, which makes walking to them on foot quite a hassle.

I agree but I found that utilizing the "squad" component of BF2 REALLY helps with this. Join a squad of compotent people (normally you will notice a mix in their kits; and if possible will use VoIP) and be a medic or engineer, something that can help the team accomplish certain goals.

You're preaching to the choir man. I'm damned lucky if I can find a server that has players using VoIP AND teamwork, even luckier if they use both. Most of the time I get stuck on the losing team, sans any commander or squad leaders to spawn on. And a quick stats check will uncover that I have over 160 hours combined of medic and engineer... :D
