So, I've now played about 6hrs of Euroforce, and I have to admit that I like it.
I love the new riot shottie, great weapon and powerful! The medic's FAMAS rocks the hizouse, great sounding.
I like the new TigerTank, but I don't like that I can't see the fron of my tank, I have a hard time judging where my front is going, but that shell is damn powerful. Was taking out tanks left and right with them
I don't think these maps are infantry friendly, as I've seen, but it is definitely engineer friendly! I've never had so much fun being in a tank brigade, running a convoy down a strip of mine infested fields and roads, bomb runs being helped by your team's fighters, etc etc.
I can however see how some maps could be considered "bomber friendly" but I've only noticed this problem when the team doesn't effectively use the mobile AA nor the SAM sites.
I played the "quarry" map several times, and it reminded me SO much of a DC/POe map that I fell in love quickly. I just wish helicopters were in both Operation Smoke Screen and the "quarry".
The Great Wall is by far one of the best tactical combat maps I've yet to see. Secured/controlled entrances requiring both infantry and tanks/APCs. The environment is beautiful, with the falling of leaves to the ground and such. The different "shortcut" paths offer some great tactical advantages when running convoys.
All in all, I have to say that although I feel I shouldn't have had to pay for these maps, it's good to know DICE never forgot about those of us that enjoy larger areas and vehicle based maps. I'll be curious to see "Armored fury" in the coming months, and how it will compare to how well these three maps were balanced.
The only drawback to these maps are previously stated, there is no 64player support which kind of draws away from BF2 in that I enjoy 64 player maps with large non-linear maps.
PEACE
