I have a couple questions about the way BF2 handles sky textures, and sky textures in general.

From what I've looked at, the way BF2 handles skies (correct me if I'm wrong) is it wraps a long 2048x512 image around a geometrical Half circle in the sky. Which means there is not top image, it just uses all the tops of the long image together to make a top.

I need to know a way to pop this texture into a program like Bryce5 and be able to re-extract another set of sky textures. I need to turn this long Bf2 sky texture into 5 different textures (Left,Right,Front,Back,Top).

Anyone know how to do this?

Also, if anyone has any skills on making sky textures from scratch....wanna point me in the right direction?

you will need to use a dds plug in to stick into photoshop, we at surreal have got a number of custom skys, which we have asked to use, forom a 3 rd party.

the size can be checked out buy trying all differnt sizes, but it only works in some formats like 2048x512, dds however i have used a few smaller ones with some succuss, it all comes down to the size b4 u make it dds. u may need to tweak the size if the dds plug cos it doesnt like the size u have to convert.

u will also need to add a few lines of text were the old sky was, too in sky.con as well as make a new folder called sky_etc or what ever u like. and add that too the line in sky.con
