So heres the deal I was thinking about buying spec forces, when I heard that if you buy EF you get all the EF unlocks??? Is this true? Because that would make me want to buy it more then spec forces. or do you get some for buying it? Or do you have to "unlock" them as per the norm.
Thanks

ok if you buy special forces or play sf you will be able to unlock sf guns as long as you have the 1st teir gun for that kit unlocked.
if you buy ef then you get to use all new guns when you play as the Euro side/team but only when you are playing as them you can not use the euro forces guns in normal bf2. (appart from 2 which are unlockable snper gun and anti tank gun)

so... the " new " unlocks like all the g3 guns and the p90 do not get unlocked when you buy ef?

If you buy the Special Forces expansion pack, you get two unlocks per rank-up and the ability to unlock the Tier 2 unlock set. You cannot unlock the F2000 without buying SF, for example.
Now, prior to SF being released, DICE had created unlocks for each kit. But when SF was finished, DICE had only created 5 new unlocks; the AT and Sniper kit didn't get a new unlock. Then in patch 1.2, DICE gave the AT kit the P90 and the Sniper kit the L96A1; both of these guns are the default weapons of the respective kits for the European Union army.
Well the thing is, Euro Force is not an expansion pack, it's part of vanilla BF2. As such, DICE has had no plans to unlock the rest of the EU weapon set (in addition to the constraints of memory involved). So you can't unlock the HK21 or the Benelli M4, as much as some would like to.

Hey it sounds like Sf is the better deal. Unlock wise anyways. But when I get it, will the " two unlocks" be retroactive? Just kwanted to know.

If you have the BF2 unlocks--let's say the G3, then yes you will get the F2000---whatever class you have unlocked in BF2--you will get to unlock in SF

Assault in EF get the L85A2 with the AG-30 (I think) grenade launcher. The L85A2 is similar to the Tier 1 medic unlock L85A1 (but the A2 version seems to be more accurate).

I understand the memory constraints when unlocking NEW WEAPONS in EF. But they should have still allowed us who has EF to use the newer weapons in Vanilla which does not involved memory restraints because either way they are being used in Vanilla or EF. Whats going to happen with Armoured Fury? Is there going to be new weapons kits? If so then all that logic about memory restraints just shot out the door. I understand memory contraints and its allocation but I WOULD NOT have bought EF if I knew I could not use the weapons in Vanilla plain and simple. Thats all the reason why I purchase SF for...I dont even play it, I hate it with a passion. Very very very laggy..
