Ok my game runs great no problems so I have no way to test this so I'm throw'n it out there for those that need sumth'n else to try.
On another forum a post was made speculating that some audio codecs have problems with games. But there is a codec pack that seems to cure a lot of peoples ills.

This has cured alot of crash to the desktop starts for people in other games. Seems there is a problem with games play'n music and videos and some codecs.
I use the K-Lite codec pack and have no trouble.
