Never had any problems with BF2 like this untill recently. My game will randomly freeze and start to repeat sound over and over again, and I have to turn my comp off to get out of this. It started a while ago, the day I added another 512mb of ram to my computer. I think it's an over heating (or power?) problem.

If you really want specs go look up
Computer = emachines t5026

I have upgraded from 512 (2x256) to 1 gig (4x256) of ram and an fx5500 OC, other than that its all stock

It was ****ing me off so bad that I just did a complete system restore back to the way it was the day I bought it, installed bf2 and 71.89 drivers (or something like that), disabled my lame integrated graphics, got the also lame fx5500 setup proper, played BF2, and I still get this freeze ****. Hardware issue I bet.

So if you think it's an overheating problem, is there anything I can do to cool it down without buying a new fan or some other ****? If you don't think it's overheating like I do, tell me what to do please I'm a nub.

Well if it started the day you added the ram, wouldn't you suspect the ram?

No I suspect heat because of the ram, I haven't had any problems with the ram my system works fine with it, it's the right type and all that ****.

my idea: more hardware = more heat
is this just dumb? like I said I'm a nub..

also I pulled the side off before and it was way hot in there

(BTW it's not anything stupid like spyware or fragmented thing)

Adding ram shouldn't affect the heat in the case that much. I'd bet you got some bad RAM. Have you tired just the new sticks? Have you used just the old since you started having problems? Run memtest?

I'll try the old ram and new ram alone, thanks. :)
