For those of you who are having post-1.22 issues with freezing, "sound-lock" (sound repeats a like a broken CD) and connection drops when latency/connection is fine, be advised that the patch resets EAX to enabled. If you don't have a Creative card, you should turn this off in the audio settings.

I usually have EAX disabled. I noticed it was re-enabled. I disabled it again maybe the "pauses" will go away tonight.

i have a realtek ac97 onboard

and it's suppose to have EAX 1.0 and 2.0 support

it seems any realtek driver version above 3.61, EAX is fuxored in bf2

but when i turn it on, i hear ALL sound effect, as if i'm located all over the map

anyone else experience that?

I'm having that problem right now since the 1.22 patch, even with EAX off. Sounds like arty is being fired off (not landing) all around me most of the time. Very odd. Haven't worked on fixing it yet.
