i live in an apt so i use headphones. my headphones cost more than any of the speakers you listed and its worth it. unless you live alone in a house where no one is going to be bothered by constant machine gun fire and artillery barrages.

So getting the x-530's is a better deal than getting the Logitech Z-2300's at half price?
im looking for something that has a lot of bass to it

Yes. The 2300s aren't 5.1.

Yes but the Z-2300's are 200 watts, the x-530's only 70 i believe. Even then are the x-530's still better?
and plus i can get the Z-2300's at half price

It's your choice, but the 530s are great. Wattage isn't everything, SQ is more important.

Really depends on preference. The Z-2300 are awesome, I have them plus the Z-5500s. I've tried the Creative's once, while they make great sound cards, I think Logitech has them beat in terms of speakers and sound quality. Some people like 2.1 better than 5.1, so like I said it's preference. I would go with the Z-2300. A bit better sound and more punch behind it.
Of all the speakers I have, my favorite for BF2 is my Seinhauser 290 Pros with my X-Fi. The nice thing with that is, you can hear stuff easier because no background noise like family etc. Also the other upshot of running headphones is you can use a mic. Oh since I've gone to headphones and my X-Fi Fatal1ty, I've never been jumped from behind while sniping or anything.
Hope this helps.

just to add this i am getting the Creative Inspire T7900's they are really nice so much bass, i never would consider getting "multimedia speakers" until i witnessed the power and the bass these baby's produce i mean my 3 pairs of monitor speakers are nice but not really designed for games.
if u can spare abit more cash the 7900's are great

I use the Monsoon MH-500 Flat Panel Speakers.
The reason is that my computer speakers is also my stereo system. So i wanted something with awesome audio quality. They cost me about $189 at Compusa for two speakers and a subwoofer.
They use a Planar Magnetic Transducer to emit sound. To explain what that does, even though the two speakers are located in the front corners of your computer monitor (ie. the 2pm and 10pm clock position) you hear sound as if you are using the 5.1 surround sound speakers.
The magic of magnets.
Anyway, they are great speakers!
If you get headphones, get noise cancelling ones, whihc cost more money but offer better sound quality. The problem with headphones is that it can cause hearing damage from prolonged use, especially when using heavy base. Not necessarily because its loud but because the vibrations occur close to your ear drum and ear canal. Vibrations contribute to ear damage.
One last thing. If your going to get headphones. Then might as well get headphones with a microphone built into it. Then you benefit with two features.
