Hey,

I just bought BF2 and love it. I tried installing it on my laptop, then, and got it done. Then I restarted and tried running it and the screen turns black for a second, then turns back and it just stops there... it quits suddenly.

So, do I need a graphics card then? It's a 2.54 GHz Pentium 4 processor w/ Windows XP Pro. I have 510 MB of RAM, and DirectX 9.0c. The problem? The default graphics card comes with 16 MB of memory. Do I need to upgrade?

If so, can somebody give me a link to the exact card I should buy? (Under $120 if possible...) For a laptop, remember that.

Thanks,
-Matt

The video card is the problem. For everything else, you have just about minimum and thats it. Here is the system reqs from EA:

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

* Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
* 1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater
* 512 MB of RAM or more
* 8x or faster CD/DVD drive
* 2.3 GB free hard drive space or more
* Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible (see video)
* Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible (Sound Blaster X-Fi series recommended )

VIDEO
Video card must have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets:

* NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater
* ATI Radeon 8500 or greater
You cannot buy a video "card" for your laptop unless it was built to have that as an upgradeable option.

Unless someone has some tweaks, you cannot play BF2 on that laptop.
