Euro'bviously Force'ing Annoyance

I have tried absolutely EVERYTHING!

My gamespy id matches my ingame name and, yes I have logged into EA downloader and edited my ingame name and yes they match exactly with no prefixes.

I have tried refreshing my profile, ie. deleted my BF2 files in My Documents and deleted all temp files, then retrieved my account at BF2 login.

I have unistalled (very cleanly ie. deleted all registry items blah blah, blah after unistall) and then reinstalled BF2, Special Forces, Patch 1.21. Euro Forces and 1.22 (in that order)

I have even created a new hotmail address and a new gamespy name for that address, entered EA Downloader and edited my game name to match, retrieved that game name at BF2 login and STILL NO LUCK.

NOTHING will make Euro Forces work.

Even more strange is that I managed to get it to work once in a 1 player (within my online account) but that is it, never again. I've played great wall once in a poxy 1 player, great map by the way, but what a tease.

I tried contacting EA Tech Support, but those guys are as useful as a dinghy in the desert.

I am very disappointed as I have been enjoying games produced by EA for many years. Remember Populous?

I am completely stumped. If anybody can come up with a solution to my problem I will never sin again, I promise!!:rolleyes:

BUT PLEASE! I KNOW YOU MAY BE TRYING TO BE HELPFULL BUT PLEASE DON'T REPEAT SOMETHING I HAVE ALREADY MENTIONED THAT I HAVE TRIED.

AFAIK a LOT of people who contacted EA by phone got their account fixed by the tech support.

You do understand that having a gamespy nick has nothing to do with the problem?

What exactly is going wrong? When you log into www.ea.com and hit the 'downloads' tab what BF2 nick do you se there?

I'm having a serious issue.... And it's starting to **** me off as well.

I formatted my system, low level.

Get it back working, install everything for bf2 in the order required.


I can run bf2, in widescreen, I can run SF in widescreen, I can run Tabitha Quarry just fine.... But the very second I try to run either of the other 2 EU maps.... POW drops me to the browser and tells me I need to Buy Euroforce..... Which you know, considering I first encountered it playing Tabitha Quarry, when the map switched to Smoke Screen it dropped.... I was ****ed.


Now I just want to know how to fix the thing..

The trouble is I am working in China at the moment and it will cost me a bloody fortune to ring EA, and if they are as helpfull as they are on the phone as they are online, well, I might as well just shoot myself in the foot. It'll be more fun and less painfull!!!

The exact problem is Euro Force wont bloody work. Maybe I wasnt very clear about my name. MY ingame name, my gamespy name AND my name in EA Downloader ALL match (I use the same name for pretty much everything anyway) but still Euro Forces WILL NOT WORK.

In the past couple of days I have been trying to ask EA Tech to look into my account, but, sticking with their consistency, the next Tech writes exactly the same advice I had from the last Tech. Grrrrrrrrrr!

I have also tried asking them a couple of direct questions. One being, does a gamers PC have to go through some sort of verification process and connect with a different EA Server before being allowed to login to a Euro Force map? I ask this because I suspect this is where my problem lies.

But they seem to want to avoid the question, I have asked 3 times already and they wont answer me. I have NO idea why?

I had a similar problem, with a somewhat annoying fix - I'm not a computer guru so I apologize if it is doesn't work or even doesn't apply... but I thought a new idea might help.

I bought EF, played a few maps, and then shut down for the night. The next day, I tried to play again, but it said I had to buy it. Launched the EA downloader, checked (it said I had it "ready to play"), and then loaded it up. It seems as though the downloader has to be running for it to count as working. There's gotta be a way to hack around this. If you didn't use the EA downloader, maybe it's some problem with it registering that you have it?
