GREAT WALL as for sniping places ,you will need to figure that out for yourself.

The only places I snipe on Great Wall are at the tops of the wall divides. Although that's the common place to look for them.

Any map is good for sniping, a die hard sniper can do some shooting in all kinds of situations.
You simply have to think to yourself, "where will the traffic be? where will high volumes of unsuspecting head shot victims congregate? what is an important point for me to defend?"
There are offensive snipers, defensive snipers, cover snipers.......
What kind of Sniper are you..................?

i like lying on buildings or using places from www.secretsofbattlefield.com (http://www.secretsofbattlefield.com) .
The reason i ask is coz i dont have euro-force, but i'm thinkingof getting it. My dad has it and it didnt seem like the great wall was very good for sniping.oh well

Of the Euro Maps Great Wall is probably the best for sniping, as the other two maps are very Air and armor prolific (not as much infantry running around.) Great Wall has some very good sniping spots and some great claymore spots too. The center wall dividing the quam fortess from the compound almost always has a fire fight going on across two or more towers. Snipers and medics do very well there.

there are only 2 types of snipers.
claymore dispenser no skill losers (98 percent)
extremely good snipers (2 percent)
oh yeah, and hackers with M95 rapid fire hacks. rather a lot of them.

If you want to succeed, don't go up on high places.

i like operation smokescreen...
in the base surrounded by all the smoke
i hide on the stairs of an oil tank thing
and blend in great with the smoke
and get perfect shots without being noticed

IntensiveCareBear, in every thread about snipers you post in, you mention the spamming of clays. While I did notice a big increase of the "claymore dispensers" after the 1.21 patch, I don't see a problem at all after the 1.22 patch. Can't you just play on servers with FF/On for mines and clays? On the New Zealand and Aussie servers I play, pretty sure all of them have FF/On...
...Anyway, I digress, sorry! :)
alabama619, as far as best map, in Euro, would have to be Great Wall. I don't think the other two are worth considering at all. In vanilla BF2, would be Mashtur, Sharqui, and Karkand, (Karkand can be good with the SVD), and in SF I'd go for Warlord and Ghost Town. (I have trouble playing the night maps on my p.o.s. PC! :D
Just my opinion, obviously every player will find different maps better for sniping...

Couple of those MEC vs. Russian SF maps, Surge I think it is--the one with the rail station--are fantastic with the SVD. I never realized how awesome that gun is until I went hunting on that map!

agree completly with this!! sniping should take place anywhere at any time, catchin people out. hidden and dangerous is a good phrase to use for a sniper.
always be aware of your enviornment and where you can see the enemy well and where they cant see you that obviously
wake island it way too obvious for sniping, but yet, i kick *** on that map, cant thing of anywhere you can hide, the boat near the airfield does come to mind if you can snipe from distance

Sometimes Great Wall is too thick with them. Squads of 3 snipers, and a couple of them. IT's like you're getting shot at with the SVD, when it's really a team of snipers blasting at you. You die quick.

Any map can have good sniper spots. It is all what you make of it, how you hide, and wait to fire (then move)..
Great Wall. On the wall. That is all.

Best sniping map IMO is Sharqi Peninsula. Best sniping spots in that map are on the crane in the construction site, and the top of the hotel.

Please everyone, go snipe on the crane, more free kills for me!
Seriously when people get sniped, those two places are where they're gonna look FIRST! It's so obvious, plus you have nowhere to hide up there, your head is very visible with the sky behind it.
Snipe on the ground! Simpler, and sneakier
