After a break from news posting, the guys behind the Point of Existence 2 (http://www.pointofexistence.com/) mod are back again with a new update. As always, they are back with some great media to showcase. Take a look:
This week’s news post will begin with screenshots of something that Mach10 has worked on. When he was interviewed to become a member of the team it was agreed that he would work on something that he has a passion for. That passion ended up being “game modes” and he’s done just an outstanding job with what he has developed so far. The first thing he worked on was our “Objective” game mode which we will showcase in the near future. Only reason we aren’t showing screens of it right now is that we need to have what the “Objective” will be skinned. The item has been added in-game for the testers to play with and things are working great with it. Stay tuned as it will probably be showcased in a new video hopefully very soon. The other item that he took ownership to develop for the mod has been a way to use player controlled artillery. He must have stayed up around the clock to get it developed and the first design in-game as it seemed like he had it working very quickly. The screenshots we are showing below are considered a “work-in-progress” but the actual coding has been perfected and working nicely in our internal builds. The team is thankful for Mach10’s time and effort and with him standing up to the plate to assist with other items that he’s working on currently. He is definitely a Python Coder Extraordinaire!

With the Ukraine team being able to “pick-up” a NTW-20 from their “armory”, we figured it would be good that the German team have something that they can use for anti-material snipping. The G-82 .50 caliber (12.7mm) rifle will be included for the German team to use which “AgentX” was able to develop the model & skin for.

The POE Development team has always tried to keep the gaming community involved with suggesting the game play that is developed for our mod. One item that is always requested is “Infantry only” maps. We try to give a good mix of everything and this week’s “Map of the Week” is another level designed by “SgtWedge” called “Orel”. The map is 95% infantry as it will have a jeep like vehicle for each side. The map outline is a battle in a small village. Using the terrain and buildings for cover and working in fire teams to provide covering fire will be a smart tactics for this map. Camouflage is definitely useful since the levels are designed to utilize shrubs, grass, and trees. The map layout for 16, 32, 64 and other screenshots will be posted later in the Interactive Development area of the forums (http://www.pointofexistence.com/forums/index.php?showforum=10).

Another item that we decided to take back and re-do in response to constructive criticism has been the Shilka. This Anti-air nightmare was touched up by “Spitfire” in the camouflage design which we hope you enjoy.

They'd also like to mention that a new teaser video is on the way. Another very impressive update from the Point of Existence 2 (http://www.pointofexistence.com/) team!
