blank screen

first of my first post so hello top everyone hope to see you on the feild
heres my prob iv installed and that all went fine laod up game ea screen comes up intro movie fine then when it sais welcome to duty it suddenly crashed and just goes to black screen
my CURRENT specs are
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+
512 MB ram
Windows XP Home Edition
RADEON 9200 (this is where i think the problem is)
im upgrading to a radeon 9600 before i get flamed i know its not an amazing card but am on a budget

soon im putting my card and an extra 512 mb of ram in
my question to you all is will this solve my dilemma?

This is what happens to me.
Thankfully I am upgrading my card soon

I just boosted my 512Mb RAM up to 1Gb...and i'm pretty sure it didn't solve it ;)

yes, your vid. card is probably too old.. I had a really old nVidia card and my game would crash as soon as it said "welcome to duty." I bought an ATI 9800 Pro and it fixed the problem....

if it's regular PCI I'd say save up and get a new computer. I had an ATI PCI 9200 and it wouldn't run BF2 at all. When I went from that to an nVidia 5200U it ran fairly good considerinh what I had at teh time.
