After looking over this forum, I see alot of people looking for clans by just starting a thread and getting flooded with replys from every clan that is currently logged in. Instead of doing this yet again lets try something a little different. I would like to make this thread for EVERYONE who is looking for a clan. Here is what you do:

About the post title:
I'm not really a hard-core gamer, I just like playing in the evenings after work. Anyway, the whole reason I got into this game is the teamwork aspect to it, and that seems to be dwindling. I find it more and more rare that people tend to play more selfishly than ever (maybe its just my perception, i dunno). Would joining a clan renew my enjoyment of the team aspect to the game, because thats what I'm after.

What are you looking for in a clan: I like teamwork and such. I am mostly looking for a realism clan, with divisions and such. I like having fun, but in matches i'm all in for the win.

Comments: Yes, i'm only 13, but i'm mature for my age. I like the idea of Divisions, Training, and needing to complete things(Such ***, Tank combat) To be able to use a tank in a clan match. Therefore, a realism clan would fit me well. I'm from Sweden so i might get a bit of ping problems, but it doesn't matter to much. I'm also still very good in vehicles(tank).
Also, i use and XFire. I also have MSN, but i won't download other software for communicating. unless it's Ventrilo or something.

Why would you good in a clan: I would concider myself unselfish, I follow orders and am very obedient. I love the teamwork aspect of the game, and that is what drew me to the game the first time around, but it's getting harder and harder to find people you can really work with on a random server on a random squad :) I would also concider myself a pretty decent medic and a mediocre spec ops and I am trying to get used to the feel of the Anti-Tank pack now, so I am very versetile. I am no god at either of these packages, but then again I have only owned the game (note owned :) ) for two weeks :D

I played bf42 since the demo at RaM (www.ramclan.de top 10 esl.eu bf42 clan) Project K2 (the guys who were the 2nd place in the BFV WT - top 5 esl.eu bf42 clan) and Stosstrupp Steiner (top 10 clanbase bf42 clan).
I played bf2 at Stosstrupp Steiner and RaM (now top 10 esl.eu bf2 clan and was close to make the bf2 Pro Series - eps). I used to play 4h a day last til february. cause of moving to the US and of my job, til now I could only play rarely.

Times online: going by GMT, I often play a couple hours from around 10:00 to 15:00 2 or 3 nights through the week and I'm on unpredictably during the weekends but for long stretches (5 to 6 hours).
Why would you be good in a clan: I'm a team player and when I understand the ins and outs of what needs to be done I also like being a leader. I'm able to follow directions well and give them well. I never have a problem sacrificing something for the good of the team.
What are you looking for in a clan:
-maturity (20s or older on average)
-active players in various timezones (so that I can be sure of meeting up with clan members when I'm on)
-playful approach to winning and losing but a serious approach to teamwork and strategy
-willing to teach new players (yes, willing to teach me, but also I don't want a clan with people who tear apart and make fun of 'noobs' for not knowing something or other about the game... we all start somewhere)
-a purist clan that frowns heavily on the use of complex macros, exploits or hacks (and other non-cheating malice such as TKs, baseraping and stat padding)
-active commanders and squad leaders in games (people who will give instructions to the team instead of just leaving everyone to their own devices)
-all players active with either Teamspeak or Vent (I prefer Teamspeak). I don't care if you have your own TS server or not, I don't mind using public servers as long as the clan always uses the same one so that it's easy to hook up with others.

Prior FPS Experience: Casual experience with most every FPS released since Wolfenstein3D and Doom. I would say I have had extended time spent with the original Golden Eye and Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. And extreme (bordering on unhealthy) experience devoted to the "bread and butter" FPS such as Half-Life 2, Counterstrike, Halo and it's sequel, and equally excessive time playing the classic FPS games, such as Doom I (with the Barney mod, of course) and even some old-school Tribes.

Daily Online Schedule: Somewhere between 6:30pm and 2:00am most every night, though this doesn't directly reflect consistent activity on my part... or that I'll be capable of meeting up for clan functions if they weren't mentioned at some point before-hand.

Availability for Clan Events: ~3 Hours per Day / ~6 Days per Week (Note that this is an estimate based on the past, and it has been approximated on the conservative side, and would also include time available to work on clan projects outside of the battlefield, itself.)

How would you benefit the clan, were you recruited: I'm a relative newbie when it comes to playing this game. I've played for a bit over a month, and clocked in numerous hours, so I can't claim that my skill or experience alone merit any sort of consideration. However, during this time I have become quite proficient in the role of a team-oriented support kit (typically medic or support kits).

I can be both single-minded and patient when the situation requires it, both in and outside the game. This allows me a greater degree of strategy than the rest of the players, who, from what I have seen, are more intent on getting easy kills and capturing unoccupied bases rather than attacking and defending key positions. This, I would imagine, becomes a very useful trait when the team is focused on victory rather than personal gain.

Another valuable trait I believe I possess is the willingness to learn. It's relatively simple in my eyes, what you don't know must be learned. So far I've spent 150+ hours learning the hard way that the teams you find on public servers are rarely worth joining, and the ones that are worth playing with typically carry atleast two clanned members. I've learned that getting killed repeatedly by your own team for an attack helicopter simply isn't worth it. And I've come to hope that I will find a better experience with people who I've had a chance to speak with and practice with.

On a more technical note, I am currently refining my helicopter skills with daily practice, and I have become extremely comfortable in both the transport and scout helos. Again, you'll notice that my role typically falls into one of support and strategy rather than rushing flags and claiming kills. I whole-heartedly believe a dedicated transport helo pilot can change the outcome of any game if given proper support from the commander. I still need a great deal of fine-tuning on my yoke-hand, but I've reached the point where attack choppers no longer pose a real threat when flying the scout, unless manned by both a talented pilot and gunner, and in fact they have become common fodder for my precious lil' bird. And playing with people who don't repeatedly TK you for trying to grab the AH-17 might prove beneficial to my skill. I've avoided it in all but the most deserted games due to the competition involved in getting one off the ground without getting waxed by opponents, or more often, your own team.

When it comes to handling the responsibilities of running a server and keeping it open to the public without sacrificing the experience of the players, I'm more than willing to contribute a fair amount to server upkeep costs, as well as take on whatever responsibilites come with maintaining a server. I've worked as a game administrator for several privately-operated multi-player games, and have done so without a single outstanding or unresolved complaint against my judgement. Though this would mean a full run-through of the rules, I will not abide favoritism or a biased administration abusing their power to gain an advantage. I will enforce the rules as agreed for everyone, as seeing the favoritism on certain servers stirred my strongest feelings against clans and the role they play in this game. As you can probably tell by now, I'm more interested in the quality of the experience than the stats I get, and I'm more enthusiastic about building a strong clan structure within and outside the game, itself.

What are you looking for in a clan: The major requirement I have in seeking out a clan is this: Community. Or more eloquently, an effectively organized group of mature game enthusiasts who are willing to share and learn on even terms, and operate with the team's interest in mind. This doesn't necessarily mean winning a half-dozen tournaments. In fact, it doesn't mean winning at all, though it might be nice from time to time.

Strong and active leadership and a clear chain of command are the other important requirements I have. If the leader can't muster his troops efficiently and effectively, there's no reason in going to war. In other words, I want a leader (or group of balanced leaders) who knows what is going on with his clan mates (as well as what's going on beyond the clan [ie: tournaments, events, updates]) He must be able, willing, and motivated to communicate personally with each person and accomodating in fair in his treatment of all the players, no matter what their stature may be (within or outside the clan).

A stable place to play and practice is the final requirement. Having a place I can count on when everyone else is lagged horribly, or just a dedicated server to practice my piloting skills on during the slow hours would help me out a lot. Being able to moderate them to keep the morons who like to team-kill whatever they see when they realize there aren't any points involved, would probably save me an hour a day that I could actually be practicing with.

Why you would be good in a clan: Effective at creating tactics, good team player, follows orders and tactics down the last second. I am also effective at offensive and defensive play.
