Desert Conflict Mod Update

There is a new update posted today over at the Desert Conflict (http://www.desert-conflict.org/) mod website. They are showing off their Iraqi Riverboat. Take a look:

After listening to several of the conversations around our forums, we decided that the poor, over worked, and under paid Iraqi soldiers deserve a nice holiday on the water. Fun activities are to include plucking the feathers of passing birds and c4 fishing.... and possibly some jihad ramming. So......In the spirit of improvised field alterations, we present to you the IRB Iraqi Riverboat.

Expect quite a few different variations as far as weapons loadouts go. This thing is intended to be fairly fast and well armed as it is paper thin. This is just a preliminary bundle of the model, but the skin will come soon. Then we will not have to put RIB's all over the place on our maps with water.

We have the outboards turning, the steering wheel rotates properly and the throttle is doing it's thing as well when you give it the gas. I may have to chamfer the front of the boat as it looks a little squared off, but that is a quick fix.

ummmm. i think he is referring to the practice of "jihad jeeping" in vanilla but in this case in the newly developed boat in desert conflict - hardly a joke based on historical fact ;)

The 'jihad ramming' thing is not right mate, careful with those type of comments. I am not muslim, in fact I dont follow any religion but dont make fun of other cultures.... there is a word for that.

considering the context of the "joke" (jihad jeeping in a boat) i think your just a bit out of line there mate. and if you havent heard of jihad jeeping then you dont play enough bf2 to get the joke.

I cannot stand smilies... they are so damn annoying. Especially that rolling of the eyes. Anyways, no need to bring religion into this. It's a game, it's battlefield, you can do whatever you want. Someone can use it as a transport or a jihad boat - whatever the player chooses. Will be fun to play with it ingame :)

you all saw the update of the unskinned SAM-3 ..
go check on their site .. now it is skinned .. and OMG it looks so pretty !

This is actually really cool, its about damn time Iraq had its own boat. It might not sound like much but it was something that annoyed me in DC where the US had the RIB's and Iraq had the feckin japanese thingy. or another RIB.

Plus, if you go to the site you see a real pic of one which has a big anti air gun mounted on it.

theres alot of potential here for a lot of fun with this bad boy :cool:
