The fact that they were already snatched up by THQ is a big deal. THQ (fixed by ace :)) has a list of solid games that they've invested in and Frontlines should be no different.
Only thing that bothers me is that it's also being developed for XBOX and PS3.

Dang, that's one heck of a screen... puts BF 2142 to shame. Only time will tell, but this game looks to be just right. It's not too far in the future like BF2142 is.

These screens look nice. I have faith in the DC team to create a nice game. The newest Game Informer edition (may) had a really good article on Frontlines, and some First person Screenshots (no hud though). If they can acheive all or most of there goals, this game will definately be fun to play.

It will rock, plain and simple. I have a feeling 2142 will also. Times are gonna be good in the near future.

I won't even consider it as long as its in co-development for consoles. I learned my lesson with cod2. Every game i've ever played that has been developed across multiple systems has been a let down in one way or another. Its always painfully obvious where choices were made to accomodate the shortcomings of consoles.

The developers have already hinted at this on the forums. Well, they said they would, but it was in a kind of sarcastic manner, so I'm not really sure if they were serious.

And the best part is EA won't be there to rush the release making it end up as buggy as BF2.
EA really shot themselves in the foot, shin and thigh by ****ing about with the trauma guys

I am pretty sure they will be using Unreal 3 as the base engine. THQ has announced that all their studios will be using it.

Unreal 3 will stomp all over BF2...

This is great news for the community simply because it pressures EA to release a better product.
The more competition, the better. Why only 60 weapons/vehicles? Why not 90+ like Soldner was doing..too bad it was riddled with glitches, the game was a definite overall winner.
PEACE

Ooh yea.. soldier was a winner. Too bad it was so bug infested. One of my favorite features in the game was the hand gestures you could make. Like how you could flip somebody off lol.

well we need to w8 4 some videos then we can look how is the game's physics.I dont want to play this like Joint Operations physics.
If this game proves himself good then the EA's BF2142 project will be screwed!
EDIT:dang i read all the Overview now and i see that if BF2142 will be released in this summer then the frontlines fuel of war will be released fall 2007 well the BF2142 will over played by then and all forgets the BF2142 existence to the fall 2007!
I will be 18 to the time when this is released and i think that i will forget that title to that time!

Frank Delise is a genius, did miracles with the bf42 engine, back then there was no good looking editor and the tools that BF2 has. It was really hard to get things done. He worked really hard on DC with updates fixes and it was 100X better than EA support. This is EA fault, they didn’t take care of the business and I was hopping that an other company manage to get in to the market of this kind of games.
I trust on Frank, hell, I played 2700 hours of his mod and it was for free. I can’t even imagine what he can do with a budget. We all noticed the difference on DC when he left the team. DC.7 > CD Final.

Hmm... I think you take things a bit far
To start, Frank is defidentally good at what he does. I watched DC grow, from iraqi's using T-34's on bocage, to the end. They got a huge fan-base, and just made a solid game.
To call him a genius, may be pushing it. People like TurdBurglar, and Rexman, are two that come to mind for the category. They are the ones, among many others I might add, that really pushed the engine to its limits. All of us working with battlefield 1942 in the old days had it hard. .con editing with notepad, hacking .rfa's and repacking them with _003 on the end of the name, etc.
What frank did was get dedicated. He worked hard as hell, got together like minded people, and worked his *** off to get desert combat made.
I will be buying frontlines, if for nothing else than to support frank and the Kaos studio's guys. That wont be the only reason, as good as this game is looking, but it will play a part as opposed to getting it in other ways.
Frank, good luck to you. With your dedication and skill, combined with a budget and an engine you can really get your hands on, I have no doubt Frontlines will be an awesome game to play.
